Bet your wrong. The M3 would have walked it even more with dct. Bmw already pushing those little turbos with 22psi.

You should have smoked it, right? (no sarcasm).

Pretty cool to see you beat it very handily!! And with a manual as well!

Wow 22psi. Are you sure? From what I remember through my research of the X5M, it was around 14psi...but I could be wrong.

Also, and more importantly, the tunes for the X5M's were giving it a lot of torque in the mid-range but very little HP up top. Therefore, if the X5M motor is teh same (or very similar) as the M5 motor, then a tune would have not helped the M5 much in this type of race.

Yeah, the M5 is 22psi. BMW raised it 5psi, from the X5M/X6M 17psi.

We were actually lined up to be 8th overall on the final track BUT we ran out of gas two turns before the finish line at road america and had to be flat bedded in. How embarassing. That DNF cost up 4 positions overall and we lost the class title to our rival the schauts

I think the extra 5 psi is for smoothing the torque curve down low. Audi is doing the same with 3.0 TFSI, i won't be surprised if BMW is doing the same with S63tu.

i'm pretty sure you may be correct. but i don't know the weight difference of the cars as i know that would play a role.
