egg nog, wassail and we get sent a couple large danish kringles that are quickly becoming a tradition. Mom makes Christmas bread and likes to serve orange slices for breakfast.

Sounds great! I’ve never had stollen before but I’ve seen it in Aldi during the holidays.

My family's traditional Christmas Eve is fondue. We have oil for the meat and seafood, cheese of course and also a chocolate pot. Our doors are always open to all friends and family and the pots are kept busy all evening, often 'til 2 or 3am. Oh and there's always lots of Christmas cheer flowing too.

Happy Holidays to all.

When I had family I used to make something nice but different each year, like Capons (Cornish Game Hens), 7 bone roast (prime rib), etc. Others took care of the sides. A duck would be fun to do, and maybe a beef Wellington another year. Turkey is for thanksgiving, and ham for Easter (although I did make one for Christmas once).

Now it is usually just the two of us and one is vegetarian, so pretty low key.

Typically my family does seafood gumbo for Christmas. This year, since its just me & my wife, we are going to have shrimp & grits! Last night we had my aunt & uncle over and we had crab stuffed salmon with roasted broccoli & roasted potatoes

Its only my wife and daughter these days but we still do full meals. It makes meal prep much easier for the next week haha. I much prefer quieter holidays, big family gatherings are fun but tend to be a lot.
