I'm a homebody too, it's just gonna be me and my wife against the world haha. Probably cook a nice dinner and watch some festivities on the computer, trying to get her to take a bubble bath+scented candles, etc, w me...ironic I'm the guy and into that chillaxing and she doesn't really enjoy it lol.

Besides being wary of rowdy crowds, just wanna avoid any troublemakers, it's palatable during certain holidays, some ppl are just up to no good and wanna mess w others.

I stay home on NYE. The last time I went out to a party was maybe 10-12 years ago and while it was fun, its just easier staying at home. Sometimes we will have a board game night on NYE with friends but that hasnt happened in a couple fo years.

Plus staying home lets me binge watch The Honeymooners and Twilight Zone for the thousandth time.

Our last NYE “out” was at the opening of the new World Trade Centre in NY a few years ago. It was such an awesome night that nothing will ever top it, so we won’t even try! We normally stay home, but this year will be at my cousins for a rib roast, loads of wine, cheese & biscuits and port/ brandy/ cocktails.

I’ve been watching them for about 30 years now and they never get old.

Usually I would prefer to stay in as well, due to the reasons mentioned by many of you.
Drunk drivers, too expensive, large crowds...

But my current organization works the ball drop every year, and I'm coming up on my 5th, (likely last) ball drop event mission since I will most likely be reassigned to a different unit sometime in '23.

Happy new year to you all!! Stay safe out there.
