S54 MAF Code - Advice please??

Looks like no one on the Zpost forum could help me, maybe you guys can shed some light on what I need to do.... They sent me here.

07 Z4MC with 6K miles.
Recently changed to euro headers, relocated o2s and egt, all seems fine. 100 miles later the SES light comes on, and I get code P1140 - MAF sensor out of range. Only code, O2s seem happy.

When I unplug the Maf at idle, there is no change.
The cheapo scanner I have doesn't give me freeze frame data.
I have reset the light twice, but it keeps coming back.

I cleaned with MAF cleaner - no change - except that the light did come on faster...

Before I buy a fairly expensive sensor, anything else I can check?
Cant find any vacuum leaks in the intake, everything seems to run just fine.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

James

Do I have herpes?
First posts on this side of the forum, and not a response on either?
It's not contagious thru the internet fellas.

Take the MAF sensor out and clean it. They sell a MAF cleaner in a spray can. Just make sure that you don't touch the metal wire (that is the sensor) let it dry a little and install. Try that first. Do you have an oiled air filter? It usually happens if you put too much oil on your air filter. The sensor gets coated with the oil. If it doesn't fix it, you might have to get a new sensor. Hope this helps.

My original post reads that I already tried the cleaner... I did some research before asking for help.
Stock intake / filter.

Maybe just the sensor itself at this point.

MAF sensor is very delicate. If you knock it or get it dirty can kill the sensor... Try replacing the sensor and try it. I'm glad the M3 doesn't have a MAF sensor.
