Can't really compare the two. The price difference is almost 80,000 €.

You'd have to be a real BMW fanboy to pick the GTS over that V10 R8, it's not even close in my mind. No one gives two shits about an M3, but a R8? Women would cream instantly.

M3 GTS is a more hard core version of M3 CSL, that was the rival of the 911 GT3. Now the R8 GT is inspired by the M3 GTS that is the rival of the 911 GT3 RS. I would never DD a M3 GTS, GT3 RS or 430 Scuderia. Many say the M3 GTS at 115.000 € is overpriced as is costs as much as a 911 GT3. The thing is that the M3 is faster than a 911 GT3, and is closer, if not as fast as a 911 GT3 RS that costs 145.000 €. Now there comes the R8 GT that cost 193.000 €, nearly as a Ferrari 458 Italia. Yet the R8 GT is not faster than a 911 GT3 RS. IMO the R8 GT is overpriced and not worth. BMW, Porsche and Ferrari are RWD, whereas the R8 GT and Gallardo Superleggera are AWD, so for me not 100 % track cars.

The M3 GTS is still just an M3. Since we are living in the hypothetical world with regards to money, I will obviously take the R8 GT as it will beat in the M3 GTS in all aspects.

What kind of BS comparo is this! The R8 GT is in Scuderia and Superlaggera territory. The M3 GTS is a CLK Black Series and GT3 RS comp if anything.

I don't see that listed as a voting option and is thus not relevent whatsoever to this conversation. Thanks for playing.

I think nobody of you understands what the M3 CSL and M3 GTS are.
What makes them SPECIAL is that they are JUST a simple BMW 3 Series. Imagine the shame for a supercar, specially built for this purpose, that can be kept up by a simple familly car.

All these cars are in the same category (STREET LEGAL RACE CARS) whatever their price is:
M3 GTS
911 GT3 RS
R8 GT
Gallardo Superleggera
430 Scuderia

That a simple family car is on this list, is something very special. If BMW can make a 3 Series keep up with the fastest car, imagine if they built/build a new supercar, Z9, Z10, M10, M1 or whatever they call it.

Isn't r-tronic a dual clutch box? The M3 GTS has a DCT trans. Seems like the same thing to me.
