Tire size recommended on m3 e92

Ok i was thinking putting 265-40-19 and 285-35-19 in the back would it be ok to run this size?

Fyi my wheels are made for this set up but curious if its ok to run 40 front and 35 rear

What would the downside using higher tires

Also i daily the car i dont track

Both sizes are way to tall...anything larger than a 255/35/19 (26" tall) will hit the inner fender liner in front and a 285/25/19 is over .5" larger than the OEM 265/35/19 out back.

even if im stock height?

its hard to believe but i am currently running 285-30-19back and 265-35-19front and still have massive clearance.

i was just curious the downside of using a higher tires ...

i dont think i will have issue running a step higher tires... im just curious on the performance im pretty sure it might not a biggy but just curious on or if people have use the set up above mentioned...

thanks.

Sean, it will rub in the front. A 255/35/19 barely fits, a 265/35/19 is going to be almost .3" taller and it will rub the fender liner from being too tall not from the width.

I know the rear wont have any rubbing but having to put 275/40/19 in the front might rub on a 19x9.5 +22

I hope someone else can chime in cause im running 275/30/19 with no rubbing at all thats on the front wheels. my rear is 285/30/19 and we all know that wont rub at all in the rear ut im planning replacing the fronts with 265/40/19 or 275/40/19 and hoping there is a way to make it work without rubbing...

If it rubs where would it be?

sean there is a HUGE difference in the height of the tire between a 275/30 and a 275/40... the sidewall is about an inch taller. You will 100% rub, I don't even think it will be drivable with that tire.

I remember you PMed me that you were going 265 35 front... even that is a stretch!
