Me neither. Plenty of GT-R's though, and they're usually the fastest.

If you're a 'real' car guy... not some poser driving around in a sports car... the maintenance is nothing more than a typical sports car... and significantly less than any other SuperCar!

The M3 is great... with everything covered including service for the first 50K miles... but the GTR shouldn't be looked to be high maintenance when compared to any other SuperCar...

The maintenace cost issue is a red herring.
The only expensive maintenance is tranny fluid at 18000 and it is only about $1500. Anyone that can afford a $90k+ car should easily be able to afford that. All other maintenance costs are roughly the same as any other sports car.
You ever get an oil change for a Porsche or Mercedes at a dealer? Ouch!

A CLK63 Black Series can't hold a candle to a GTR.
Why do so many people love this vehicle? An M3 is a superior car.
Its nice but its a heavy automatic.

Must be it's menacing appearance. They do look mean but that's where it ends.

CLK Black series > GTR

Obviously if you want all out performance, GTR. But if i'm spending 80+k between those two, Black Series all day.

Part of the reason I say it's raw is because you can hear the gears shift and it has unending power....it seems.

Raw is the e46M3 my friend.

Unending power doesn't make a car raw, many other things come into factor for a car to feel that way.

It's nimbleness, engine noise (s54 ticking, rasp etc), it's gear changes, everything was raw about that thing. I miss it. Saw a girl driving mine the other day

^^^^ this; even more so an E36M3, a 993 or 964 Turbo; .....hell, even a modern day Z06 Vette. These cars are raw. A GTR isn't the slightest bit raw.

Nuf Said... 200+ MPH standing 1.5 Mile... daily driven GTR with Mid-Pipe & a Tune...

And I agree... M3 is superior to CLK Black Series... but the Black Series is one gorgeous looking ride!

I would never buy one.....but its a sick car, mad respect to Nisan for that one. Hell, for every GTR made, not just the ones that have made it to the U.S.

Cheers,

I believe cars can have "soul," but all of the cars we talk about have it, including the gtr. A camry doesn't have soul.

e46 m3 was by no means a raw car.

Raw is a GT3 or GT2.

Superior depends what your evaluating.

I've driven 2 CLK63 BS, as well as the new C63 BS.

They are absolute riots to drive. The new C63 BS if more composed but just as ridiculous.

If you don't get out of either car with a huge stupid-ass grin on your face and then proceed to justify to yourself why your M3 or GTR is better, you don't have a soul.

The whole argument about what is "raw" is kind of useless. Generally the older a car is, the more "raw" it is. E30 > E36 > E46 > E92 in terms of raw factor. Yet each successor is faster than the previous in both a straight line and around the track. It's called progress. E46 is more raw than an E92, but by no means is it considered raw. I'd say a raw car lacks luxury features and is uncomfortable to drive on the street. An E46 definitely doesn't fit that category.

Totally agree. That's why I enjoy driving my E30 nearly as much as my M3. I don't get a chance to push the limits of the M3 often, I do mostly dull driving with it. The E30 can make that fun without me ending up in jail. But when I get the M3 in the canyons or on the back roads, well, you know.

I think 95% of the people in this thread could not push a GT-R to the point where it shows it's 'soul'.

Well as I said, I'd still rather the Black.

So what?
I owned one for nearly two years(13,000miles) and had a GTR at the same time. I dumped the CLK63 Black because its wasn't even close.
Sorry but you're mistaken. The CLK63 is nice but its a big assed Merc with a terrible transmission.

I view it slightly differently. I think the reason people say it has no soul is that the GTR is easy to push close to its limits while a lot of other cars take a deft touch to even come close(most ///Ms and 911s).

How was the ride quality and road and wind noise? I've heard it is comparable to EDC-sport which to me is very comfortable for a sports car, but I've also heard it rattles your teeth and is not suitable for DDing.
