Ok but he's not the adjuster who will be settling a claim if one did arise though no? If you think any warranty will cover you putting FI on a car that was never meant for it, good luck!

I have always been with USAA, I just bought a 5 year warranty, I reviewed every nook and cranny of the plan. No such requirement. Big benefit of plan is that you can also transfer the plan to a buyer if you sell it, or they will give you back your money on the unused portion. So say you sell the car in 3 years, they will refund you the equivalent of 2 years of premium. Last edited by Sinful; 10-21-2014 at 07:55 PM.. |

Confirming what SinfulM3 posted, no such requirement at USAA. Bought my ext. warranty with 37k miles on the car and 3.5 years of ownership...

Since their the underwriters from USAA I assume they don't sell their own plans? Meaning you have to go through USAA to have a plan from Assurant Solutions?

I was under the impression that USAA uses different underwriters at different times. So I am unsure if it can only be bought through USAA, however I would think they probably tweak their plans to make them a bit better for USAA since it is military based.

I got the same thing for $1907. Thanks to your post I saved a lot of money too. When I called, they were trying to put me on an "additive" 3yr/36k mile plan for over $3000. I had to keep questioning the rep until he found the "remaining" 4yr/50k plan which means you get mileage up to 50K on your odo, not an additional 50K to what you have currently. Which, worked out great for me since the car I got only had 23K miles on it and I only drive about 7-8K miles a year.

You could not tell them, I suppose. But, as an attorney, that doesn't work for me. They could deny a claim and you'd be SOL. Last edited by buffstocover; 03-31-2015 at 03:43 PM.. Reason: tupo |
