Maybe you would like to wait until May for the new one & I could do European Delivery for you & break it on at Nurburbring.

Congrats on your decision! You will have a blast with this car. As for the idle control valve, a few people have had this issue but I dont think I would call it common. I am sure a few of those people can chime in.

Have fun with the new car!

I had the idle control valve issue. Luckily happened at the dealer, was fixed in a few hours. No biggy.

Also since the car will only hv 14months left of warranty should I look into getting extended warranty? I plan to keep the car at least 4yrs. Anybody here bought the extended warranty? Also will it also come with roadside assistant?

If he is looking for a great daily driver with plenty of power and a lot of fun to drive, then an New S4 may be the way to go. If he can get past that he will have limited warranty coverage (unless he finds a CPO), a car where someone else had broken it in and put some miles on the ODO, then the M3 might be the logical choice.
Unfortunately he can probably only answer this question for himself as he know how he will use the car (ie. weekend car, track, daily driver etc). A lot of people on this forum will just automatically say the M3 is the only choice which is wrong.
You know me well enough jay to say something like that

However, comparing a S4 to a M3 is apples to orange...

But the way you explained it does make sense
