Ecu flashing process

Could someone please explain to me the basic about Ecu flashing process?
Is it like upgrading your iPhone os? Or do u need to pull out the EPROM, heat it up and burn the data in?
Thanks

Tuning our vehicles is an extremely simple process, just a matter of running the software and following the step-by-step instructions. I would highly recommend the Evolve-R remote tuning tool, I have mentioned their tune and customer service time and time again The whole process was quick, easy, and I couldn't be happier with the results! Contact Paul@Evolve or Imran@Evolve, you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for the advice. I guess the remote tuning tool can perform only one flash? Otherwise people will just buy one and flash many cars. Can you extract the software when you sell the car?

The cable used is mated to the car ECU. The tune stays with the car or can be flashed back to stock.

Is it like a piggy back system? Are there any data written over the oem Ecu?

You store the stock file on your laptop or remote tune device depending on what tuner & version you go with. They will send you the device or cable to hook up to your laptop. You e-mail the tuner your stock file & tell them what you have on your car, pulley, HFC's, & what gas you run. You also tell them to increase the RPM, delimit the speedo & remove cat warm up cycle if you want. They e-mail you back the tune & you load it. Done.

You can flash it back to stock anytime you want. It's pretty simple.
