Doesn't the Z4M use the same engine as the E46 M3? Not really much of a competition then.

Looks about right. I owned a modified Z4MC and although it was faster or felt faster than my E46 M3, I can say its not as fast stock VS stock with my E92 M3.

That's consistent, if a bit closer, that the difference between my Z4M Roadster and my E90 M3. The M3 is quicker 0-60, considerably faster overall and handles better than my Z4M Roadster was.

I preferred my Z4M's handling around shorter courses vs. the M3. It also "felt" purer. The Z4M also seemed to pull harder down low. M3 was obviously faster, and once it was FBO + tune, it was much faster. Z4M's with header back exhausts and tunes can get up to 315whp, which with its lower weight can do well against many other cars.

Yes, aside from steering weight and the fun of three pedals, I find the M3 dynamically superior in every way. I have an M-DCT and now wish it was a six-speed true-manual, that and the M Roadster's steering weight would make my M3 perfect.
