If thats case I'd rather buy a Cayman S and smack a VFengineering supercharger in it.

$5000 away from the M5 MSRP.

84hp less as well.

After taxes and fully optioned with little-to-no markup..

$75k+ out-the-door for the coupe/sedan models?

If this guy is right, I wouldn't be shocked.

You are definitely in the ball park. Like all M3 it should cost you a couple extra shiny coins. I don't agree with that statement, cheap is always better for me but it is what it is.

I think $5000 from the M5 would be retarded on BMWs part. If someone is willing to/has the means to pay that much for an M3, they have the means to go $5k more for an M5

Calm down people. Why would BMW leak a "secret" they've guarded up until now to some guy/rep at the LA autoshow? He just made that up is what I'd say...

Garage List
2008 M3  [0.00]
Obviously I posted this thread to get people spun up. There is no way this is the price and it contradicts my long-standing position on a sub $60k base.
It obviously is a guess by some "reporter" and we will know the MSRP soon enough. Remember, I have been saying sub $60k for some time. Just wait and see.

We got 1 series pricing but no m3 pricing? Anyone go to the show and ask some questions on pricing or MCDT?

You are awfully cocky on this one ain't ya?

Are you ready to place your money (or ricer stickers...) where your mouth is? Just kidding. I am not quite ready to bet against a sub $60k base but I am getting there. Despite getting 1er pricing I don't think we are going to get M3 pricing at the LAIAS. It would have been leaked by now.

^ You should at least read the last 3 posts of a thread. General consensus is that the $80k is not accurate, and the reporter was just making it up to have something to say.

Don't count the m3 out for yourself yet!

I am willing to state it will be below 60K base.

Also, how long does it take to place orders and have early spring delivery? Isn't it about time to get this party started?

It's been time.

BMW is taking their time.

I guess they're gonna wait till Dec-Jan to reveal official pricing and place official orders.

We do know for a fact that sometime in Dec. is the beginning of production so...

Exclamation

Why is everyone getting all rattled over this BS $80,000 price? Wait for the real number. There will be plenty of time to get pissed off after BMW announces. But I must say, if the official price is anywhere close to this ridiculous blabber, I will join those looking for an alternative to the mighty
M3. But I can't imagine BMW would destroy U.S. sales with exorbitant pricing like this.
