bmw apps only for iphone?

i can't seem to get a definitive answer on this but it appears as if the bmw apps option is only for iphones? does anyone with more technical knowledge know if getting this option opens up any integration options with the car that an advanced programmer could leverage (specifically for android)? my brother has written numerous apps for android and i don't mind paying for the option if it would give me the option of doing something down the road.

Yes, it says so at www.bmwusa.com and in several stickys in this forum.

The hint is that if you try to get the "BMW Apps" app in the Android Marketplace at this moment you will not find it. Eventually it should be available.

I'm sure just like most apps, the android one won't be too far behind. The market is growing by leaps and bounds.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but has there been any news or rumors on when an Android version would be released?

The only app that I'm aware of for Android is the My Remote app which came out late last year that people were waiting for.

Anyone hear anything more recent than this in regards to Android support? This is from July 2012 and said they will be out in July 2013...
