I had a blast !!!!! I made 45 passes

I'm going DCT thanks to Akash and Scott .

It felt good cracking the 6Mt trap record , I could have honestly trapped 128-130 that particular day but traction was a mother F'r , I had worse wheel spin in 3rd and 4th and almost lost it in 4th quit a few times and during these runs I would only trap 119-122 until I put it on MDM mode then wallah
[IMG][/IMG]

And it's pointless to hit the track without DR's I was running Conti DW's .

That is one sick F'ing 60' 1.8 .... And yes that's something to be proud of !
Congrats !!!
You and scott were pulling those 60's all day !
Between launch control power level and track prep it was an ideal day for you guys !

Hats off to Scott he can dive the shit out of his car ...

DCT here I come , I'm running out of excuses lol , all jokes aside being at my power level and 6mt is not ideal , DCT holds that momentum during shifts ... I've witnessed it too many times

INSANE times and great 60 ft (better than what I could get on my DR with dct!)....10's are right around the corner....I wish I would have came with you guys...
...124mph trap for the ESS VT1-535 is ridiculous!! far surpassed my expectations for that kit!!!

zim needs slicks on his car.....im not surprised he spun into 4th he was doing that in 80 degree weather I can only imagine how hard it was to hook in 40 degrees when the track it cold....and still pulling out a 126 is just sick (especially 6 speed)

zim you need the DCT! with it i bet you woulda hit 130+mph trap with your power and the DA that day

Trap means nothing.....its all about your 1/4 mile time! I still dont get why everyone is so set on traps on this board. You can trap 130 and get your ass kicked by a car that traps 120. If you can't launch...your done! Focus on your 60 foot...

I have several friends running low 11's in the high teens.....

Because trap speed also tells you something about the motor/car/etc...even if you suck at drag racing. That is why people care.

Agreed that if you actually want to win, then you need to put it all together.

I have a completely different viewpoint, i think trap means everything while ET is based on your traction. Trap is a better way of determining how fast your car really is with the traction issue taken out of the equation (given the spinning wasnt significant enough that it would take away from your trap speed). Lets say you ran a buddies car at the strip and had equal ET's but he trapped way higher - when you guys get on the highway and line up from a 40 roll hes going to pull on you.

To me this is more important, because alot of people with high HP cars prefer racing from highway rolls to see which car is really faster, and also not have to worry about blowing halfshafts/diffs/etc... while launching the shit out of the car from a dig with slicks. This is why the 60-130 has become so popular as a measurement of how fast your car is on the street.

anyways you ran ridiculous ET's and traps so you got nothing to worry about haha! get some slicks and your close to 10's...extremely blown away by the performance of your car with that kit

Congrats Akash! You have the fastest E9x M3 in the world! I'm sure that you will break the 11's very shortly!

Also, Congrats to Zim (M33) 12.499 is a great time for a 6MT.

Thanks Gary hopefully I'll get to hit the track one more time with slicks before I get into the Dct .
I'll tell you this 6mt's are unpredictable and hard to manage in the 1/4 , I vary'd from 118mph traps to 126.1 and still had major wheel spin in all 4gears..
But after seeing dct's in action I'm sold on it

Your right! If you want to run in the 1/4, you need a DCT to get a good time. I also have a 6 mt with every performance bolt-on and I understand the issue about traction....

From my understanding, a dct car with a sc using launch control will actually start in second gear at the track. Somehow the ecu communicates with the added power in a sc'd car and knows that there will be no traction if it were to start in first to it starts in second instead, therefore resulting with more traction and a quicker 1/4 mile time.

I however love my 6 mt but will probably switch to a dct when the F30 M3 arrives!

That's not true. The car does not start in second gear using LC.

AK, you just nipped my time!

Scott, incredible trap for a VT535 - 125MPH, that is equally impressive IMHO, time to get a VT625.

Jamie, good trap for a 6MT, it was great that Scott was there that day with his VT535, trapping 125MPH, maybe it will help people understand that the advantage of the DCT over a 6MT on this car is rather large, lol. No doubt if you were spinning a good amount down the track, you could up that trap even more.

Excellent work guys.
