Well, it's good to wait a few more month on the 2012 model to save some money or just get a 2011 if you can't wait to drive the M3. The deals on the 2012 M3's are not good at all right now. You more likely to get a better deal on the brand new M3 or 2011 model year.

Hell, if you can find me one I'll give you a "finders" fee

I've been searching for the past 8 months for an e90

You have both brought up exactly why I wanted to see what the wholesale prices. Most dealers are sticking firm to their 60k-65k prices, when I know they should be a lot lower.

I have speced out what I want in BMWConfig.com to get the invoice for a new 2013, so I know what a new one would go for.

I was thinking that I could pick up a very low mile 2012 for a good chunk cheaper than a new 2013, but as you suggest it's not working out.

I guess my search continues to get more expensive. I have been looking for an M3 for about 2 months and started with looking at 2008s at 40k, and have continued to go up the chain, and now I'm at buying brand new one!

And I know whats coming next, I'll buy new and still continue to spend money on "toys" for the new car.

Sometimes I wish I didn't like cars.

Thanks again!

I'm in the same boat I started with 08 in September now I'm looking at 2012 and the dealer is stuck at 61k so I'll just wait a little more

If u r going to do ED which is what I would recommend since you can get it optioned exactly as you want it but you probably need to put an order in soon not just because production is ending early summer but they are a bitch to get now that they come out of dealer allocations. I lucked out on my ED order but I think you will find its not as easy as previous years in locking in an ED for a M3!

That is great only if the original buyer bought it at MSRP but most don't so we're looking at 68ish for a well optioned M3 as invoice.
+ 1 ive found used ones with comparable options to my 13 for more money than i paid for my 13 new

What a dealer has "in it" and what the car is actually worth are two entirely different amounts, only one of which is of value to you.
You are, in my opinion, much better off trying to establish what a car is worth to you rather than spending a lot of energy on an amount you will probably never know-how much money the dealer has invested in a car.
