DYNO results: E92 M3 -- E46 M3 -- 335i ...
How's about that high rpm power of the E92. Gonna' run away once it gets going. A full 65 more rwhp than a Euro spec E46 M3

DAMN, that reading almost broke my heart. normaly you might loose up to 20hp at the dyno but the new M3 is no where near 400hp. is this test result true?????????

20HP? You're being HIGHLY optimistic bro. The 333HP E46 M3 dyno'd anywhere between 260-ish (...low end) and 280-ish (high end). What makes you think that there would be only a 20HP loss?

Thanks for posting that!
Rear wheel power of 365.5 PS makes a drivetrain loss of about 13%. That's not that bad, but we already saw dynos with a loss of only 10% here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82629. Best regards, south |

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html...DUCT_ID=043901 BMW changed two obvious things on the Euro E46M3 when they brought the car to the USA - They added the yellow reflectors to the front bumper and they changed the location of the catalyst in relation to the motor. For the USA BMW moved the catalyst very close to the head, in the exhaust manifold. It was put there to heat it up faster for better cold start emissions. The detriment of this change is that it causes a loss of almost 11 HP at 7,700 rpm and 17 lb/ft torque at around 4000 rpm. Well, we have a way of getting that HP back. Installing the Euro header and catalyst is a direct bolt on way to increase horsepower and torque. These factory original parts bolt on to the USA/Canada car and are supplied with all the necessary gaskets - even copper manifold nuts ! (You will need to lengthen the wires on your existing oxygen sensors) A Specially Tuned Software (Shark Injector) for this kit is available to maximize drivability and power - we highly suggest this. What you will notice is a "night and day" difference in the power band - the motor is smoother, the car accelerates faster and some of the "rasp" of the stock exhaust is gone-although there is only a 11hp gain by installing this system the 17lb/ft of torque increase at low rpm makes a huge difference. This is a GREAT first modification for your M3; it uses factory designed parts and does not cause reliability issues. Please note that this modification is sold for off road / race use only even though it may still pass emissions. Also available for the S54 M Coupe and Roadster! Evosport sell a header which is basically the Euro version which we have stock on our cars. Then they tuned for it (as the US M3 has different tuning). Here's the graphs of a US spec M3 with the Euro headers & tuning for it: Last edited by M&M; 10-16-2007 at 04:59 PM.. |

im saying that based on the e46 M3. cause i would say it loss the 33hp at the fly wheel and then another 20 when they put it on the dyno. so all together it loss 53hp. alot of people was claiming 286whp.

Two different dynos on different days with different conditions are going to show different things. That, said some people make some wild claims.
