Tire Shops in West LA: Suggestions?

I'm looking for tire shop suggestions in West LA/Santa Monica. From the chatter on this thread, I'm looking at CEC Wheels and Vince appears to be the go to guy.

Seeing that it is 2011-dated, I was wondering if anyone's had recent experiences with them. Alternately, I'm open for any other suggestions!

Thanks guys!

If you mean you're looking for a place to mount tires.. You can try Stokes is Santa Monica - not too far from SM BMW. Also Wheel Enhancement in Culver City - though really it's more like the border of CC and Mid Wilshire. I've been to both and never had any problems with either.

Ah, thanks for clarifying, Will!

Yup, I am looking for a place that can mount tires that I'll source from Tirerack.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them out.

Joined for Lucent and Tom. They have a touchless mounting system and are top notch.

Touchless mounting how does that work? What about scrapes on wheels?

West Coast Tires has treated me well and can def compete w/ prices. Im willing to bet they will beat Tirerack or Discount Tire. They are around Olympic/Suplveda. They might not be the best but def a good option. They usually let me chill w/ them so I watch what their doing.

That's the beauty of the touchless mounting it doesn't require an operator so your rims are never messed up by some moron!

West coast tires has very good customer service and competitive pricing but they have scuffed my wheels and broke a tpms on my gfs 135i so i will not go again.

I have tons of experience with the guys at CEC. Great group of guys but you're definitely overpaying there.

I have done tire mounts and dismounts several times at PS2 in inglewood. If you dont mind going into a "inglewood" its a great option. They always appreciate your business and dont try and give you the "you didnt buy your tires from us, so we wont do it" attitude. By far the most reasonable prices, the service techs are cool and laid back, I usually bring them a case of beers as an extra thanks.

I continue to go back to them over and over cuz they get you in and out and there typically arent the same hassles as CEC or Stokes, although they are both quality shops.

Thanks guys for the recs. Decided to go forward with Lucent Motors!

Just spoke to Tom and relayed him my Tire Rack order.

The RE-11's are on a closeout sale at Tire Rack since the RE-11A's are arriving soon. Ben @ Tire Rack says the difference between the 11 and 11A's will be minimal.

For 220M wheels, 245/35/19: $148 ea (normally $313), 265/35/19: $297 ea (normally $339)

The S-04's are also discounted by roughly 10% from list.

+1 for Stokes. I've gone several times, and though they're not as cheap as the places near my parents' house in Valencia, I'm still a huge fan.

They're car guys who get it. Their lot often has nice enthusiast cars, and they have their own race car.

I always take my TireRack-purchased tires there, and I also have had several tires (RFTs and non-RFTs) patched for my M3, my wife's former 335 and my former G35. I even bought a used RFT for my wife's 335 when she got a bubble 2 months before the lease was over.

Anyway, the folks there have always treated me well and seemed honest, and take care of my rims while mounting the tires.
