DILEMMA!

I am living on the reservation for another 1.5 years and I would love to have a M3 convertible or Audi R8 coupe driving around the Canyon. However, M3 is (31k mile fully loaded) $41K and 2009 Audi R8 (14K mile fully loaded) is $94K so which car would you pick and why? I am kinda on the budget but my significant other and I are paying the car payment together...if I get an E93 M3 now then I would not be able to get Audi R8 for 6-7 years later ..

Any thoughts?

who asks these questions on an internet forum? Not only is it apples to oranges as there is a 50k discrepancy but I'm sorry I just can't take anymore; "here's all my money, how should I spend it?" Be an individual and think for yourself

this isnt even half of it; I work in customer service, and some people have to be hand held from start to finish... its crazy, I just don't understand how people can be where they are by how they act?

Sorry to hijack OP; it sounds like you have a... not-so-bad "dilemna".

I would never buy an R8. At least not a V8 R8. That V8 is the biggest POS to come out of Germany.

Beyond that, you just can't drive a V8 R8 anymore now that the V10 is out.

And that's exactly why he should pick up a BRAND NEW V10 R8. Sure it is the cost of the V8 R8 plus the E93 but what the hell??!!??

This is just a question to throw out there. But remember, no question is a dumb question ...Please respect one another because this is a bimmer community with all highly educated people. I came from a 5 series fully modded community and everyone is nice. Lets go have a drink together ok?

What's a DilemNa?

If I had an option again... I would take R8 in a second.

A bit of a stretch there actually--that 4.2 FSI engine is actually pretty solid (except for the occasional carbon build-up issues)

Those two statements are simply untrue. There are plenty of stupid questions. Saying "no question is a dumb question" is a cute thing to say when you're an instructor trying to elicit questions and interest from a class, but there are tons and tons of stupid questions.

For example:
If I live with my parents, have $30k in credit card debt, $60k in student loans, no savings, and a job that pays $30k a year, should I buy a new M3 or a used Ferrari California? I'll be financing, so I'm not super worried about the cost. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my girlfriend is pregnant and my parents' house is getting foreclosed on next week.

Also, based on the threads posted within the last week, I would venture to guess that 50% of m3post hasn't graduated the 5th grade. So "highly educated"? Not so much ...
