Wink The e92 is out of winter storage!

Yesterday, I finaly decided the weather and roads were good enough here in Iowa to the get the M3 out of storage. I put it away last fall with only 580 miles on it, so I still have over 600 miles left before the break-in is complete. I am going to find a way to get those miles on quickly! I still want to see what this beast can really do when you can drive it aggressively!

I totally agree with cab5er... Go break her in. I guarantee you can do it in a weekend. I put 300 miles on mine the night i picked it up and the following day... I was so happy when i picked her up. The only difference was that mine is CPO with 3300 miles so my break in was already done lol

Dude its just an M3.....drive it. I live in Minneapolis and drive to Iowa all the time. Have the car for 15 months and have 18k on it. The car is great in winter with snows. The M3 is a DD and to drive anything less hurts my brain. Drive the car and don't worry about it....you will feel much better if you do not idolize it or treat it as treasure......my 2.5 cents.....Steve

Those of us who put our cars away in the winter know it just an M3 and a DD AT THAT. I for one can't see driving mine in the winter here with the low front end and drop. In fact, I have more fun taking it out in March or April and putting it away once the snow hits. This way I don't have to park miles away and freeze in the winter and I don't care how many door dents my winter car gets. And yes even thought its a DD I don't want door dents and want my car to look its best.

Agree with you, I drive mine year 'round. I have done the "put away for winter" with other cars, but can't see the point in it unless it's an older muscle car and/or worth a ton of money. The M3 is built to drive in the winter.

I did not know you can't get door dings in the summer. You still get to freeze in the winter, just you have a shorter walk. Agree that if you have lowered your car, then snow will be a bigger issue and that is why I went with 18s and am leaving ride hight stock. But to each his/her own.....Enjoy.....Steve

I had 1 really expensive all aluminum sports car that had to be put away for the winter, but the M3 is not that kind of car. If you lowered the car, as the OP discussed, then I can see it being an issue in winter.......Steve

I am on two years and no dents and don't want to jinx myself and yes there is very little chance of dents in the summer when you park in outer mongolia
