RPI front pipes with stock muffler?
Im picking up rpi's front pipe and x pipe today and wanted to see if anyone is running these pipes on a stock muffler. I will eventually purchase the muffler too but just need to save up some cash. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I tried it while I was waiting for rear section for the e90. It was the longest 6 weeks of my life, especially with the way it sounded. It sounds like a Honda Civic with a Pep Boys muffler with a hole in it.

The RPi Mid Pipes are designed for maxium velocity and air flow
So when it is paired with the stock muffler, as one member here described it, it is a Train Crash i would wait and get the Muffler before installing the midpipes

the rpi has a weird sound.
Get a Gintani pipe they match with other exhaust as well. And they will give you power.

I'm running the RPi Mid Pipes with stock can at back. Biggest mistake of my life plain and simple! I'll soon be getting my exhaust tho, after I'm back from Germany that is!

Sounds like complete crap don't do it. Buy those now and wait to install once you have the full system together.
I had to have it like this while I waited for my next exhaust to come in. Sounds like a messed up Japanese Sport Bike on the brink of death |

My car sounded like a trumpet with Riss xpipe + stock muffler.
The added flow in the mid section clashes with the restrictive muffler/connecting pipes and creates a weird sound. At least that what it seems to me..
