This should work nice run around the inside frame of our big picture window in the living room. Have the lights alternate between green and red or something like that. Cheap, too.

Replaced our X3 with a W211 E350. Officially no longer a BMW household now, but we will always remember them through our many oil and coolant stains left in the driveway and garage.

Nice looking benz. I always preferred the Benz to BMW until about 8-10 years ago when MB decided 4 cylinders was enough engine for an E series sedan and GLE SUV. Yes, it is enough for soccer moms but I NEED a little more blessed mother of acceleration without going all in on an AMG.

I might have bought a E450 if I could have found one (not) and instead got a 540i. This time I wanted an SUV and again could not find a GLE450 and only way to get more engine was AMG which really upped the ante. But the standard engine in the X5 was excellent.

To be fair seems the 5 series basic engine is also now a 4 banger. Jeez there was a time when if it didn't have 8 cylinders it was a no go for me. Sigh. Showing my age now.

We went with a GLE 450 for the wife primarily because like you we prefer 6 or more cylinders (unless its a Miata), and loved the mild-hybrid system which it shared with my CLS. That being said we did have a GLC 300 before and that engine was great in that size of vehicle.

The GLE 450 is actually roughly the same price as the X5 40i, however because it's technically the middle trim most compare the 350 to the X5 when its in reality cheaper and a lower trim. That being said, because most people buy for the badge they end up getting the 350.

I DIY'ed a Philips Hue one in my IKEA Kitchen Cabinet, 13 years ago. Runs 24/7. Blue at night and white during daytime.

Chilis for dinner tonight in Secausus NJ. Queso Burger and a 22oz Blue moon

I can assure you that the food that came out of the kitchen looked NOTHING like this, the Blue moon was ok... but no orange, and she never came back to see if I wanted another (or to bring me silverware or a napkin)

New drives for a NVR NAS I'm building. Need dedicated space for vids from my PoE cams. By using up some Amazon points I had, these 2 drives set me back $85. I'm hoping Synology stuff will be on sale on Black Friday. Looking for another DS220+.

Here's a shot I just took. Not quite the effect I was after, but we have these awful casement windows and very heavy wooden slat blinds, so I wasn't able to mount the light strip as close to the inside glass as I had wanted. I think if you have a normal picture window and white Venetian blinds or some other sort, it'd work better. These fade slowly from red to green, but you can set up any light sequence you want.

It fades from red to green and back to red. There is a built-in Christmas theme, but it's lots of colors and changes very quickly. I'm not thrilled with the way this looks from up close, but I need to go out to the street and see how it looks from out there. The idea was to get the whole window to evenly show light, but the damn casement frames screw that up.

Wifey hasn't seen it yet. She may hate it, so it won't take much convincing to get me to tear the whole string out.
