Red/Black or just Fox Red
Ordered my E92 M3 for ED pickup 9/28, but still trying to decide on the interior. It is space gray, but not sure if I want to go with the red/black combo ($300 MSRP option) or just Fox Red. Gut feeling says Fox Red, but my wife thinks it is too flashy and likes the more subdued look of the combo.
I've only seen the black red combo in pictures, but it just doesn't look complete. What do you guys think? |

Seeing the colored headrests/seats against the exterior is half the reason to go with fox red, IMO. The two tone takes that away.

As a corollary to what klammer said, you could always go with the new combo interior and then swap the black headrests for red to get some of the color back. Not sure how that will look IRL though.

I'm swaying to the SG with FR extended. Placing an order in a few weeks. Also considering Silverstone or LeMans. But FR extended is a must.

I've seen the fox red/black combo and I don't like it at all. It's really not that well done. It does look like a Pontiac. If the stiching was red that might have pulled the whole thing together better. I would go with the Fox Red, extended or not. I think you will be happier. I had coral red on my 335 and I feel that BMW does a great job of breaking up the red with the black dash, carpets, etc.

I understand 2 tone black/red, I think it is actually much nicer in person... pictures don't do it justice. Fox Red is awesome with SG as long as it's not extended. Extended Fox Red looks just like my neighbor's 1987 Cadillac
I understand extended leather, but Fox Red is overkill, trust me on that. Not to start any arguments here, but Fox Red is not a durable leather... stains your clothing, develops scuffs and wrinkles very visible in Fox Red. Do a search and get reviews here. But, however, it looks nice with SG. I also have SG, but decided to go with Anthracite Black Leather Cloth aka "Speed Cloth"

Fox Red is not flashy at all. In fact IMO it compliments certain color quite well, jet black being one of them. The color is not intrusive to the eye the way Coral Red is. It's a very warm color almost similar to red bricks. I think you will love it.

The wonderful thing about opinions is everyone has one.
I think Fox Red Extended is better than non-Extended, that's why I got it. Wear, perhaps although the leather is the same regardless of color, but my car is not a daily driver and I don't give rides, so not a problem. I suspect that Silver is no better (I know that Gray in a 5-Series is problematic). I think all light colored leathers are prone to showing wear more than black. Speed Cloth might be nice and I was tempted but it's pretty much just another black interior and I wasn't going to go that way. Doesn't make the car or you any faster because of the name by the way. Plus you have to give up Premium Pkg, which admitted isn't huge. Go Fox Red and Space Gray, you won't regret it. At least look at it before passing on it.

Two-tone looks cheezy to me. However, the SG with Fox Red is just heavenly!
I love my JB on Black but if I could do it over, I would get the Fox Red Interior! -SZ |

I am in the minority here, but I kind of dig that two tone black/red on Space Grey in this case. It also seems more unique as a lot of people have SG/FR combo.
