What things to replace under the intake plenum?

I'm pulling off the intake plenum this weekend to do the plastic fuel breather valve, I'm also installing a new coolant sensor..

Car has 76k miles on it. Other than the throttle actuators, what else is under there that might need replacing on a higher mileage car while its apart? And don't say rod bearings, lol...

Are there any vacuum lines in there I can replace? Any other sensors?

Idle control device can also get wonky and cause a rough idle, it's attached to the fuel purge valve. At 76k I'd replace the actuator gears as long as they aren't and throwing codes, and lubricate all the throttle body linkages

What kind of lubricant would I use for the linkages?

I was able to get it pretty cheaply at a local NAPA. I use it for everything, but its especially well suited for this job since it dries after application and does not attract dust/dirt to those sensitive areas. If it's really dirty around the linkage you could use a dry degreaser like white lightning to blast any grit out first.

I'd also really like to stress that if you aren't throwing codes yet and you're on your original actuators the new gears are not a bad idea. They can be picked up for about $100 shipped and the DIY isn't that bad if you're already in the valley of the engine. I did mine recently at 73k (no codes thrown) and the gears were pretty ragged looking with lots of shavings in the housing. If you've got an aftermarket warranty or something I understand this not being a priority

No actuator codes.... I thought the gears were far more costly. Where do I get those for $100?

Here's where I got mine:
https://www.carpartsdiscount.com/new...ml?3593=556050

Give this thread a read through as well:http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=735033

Lots of relevant info throughout the thread, especially on the later pages as people did more gear retrofits instead of full actuator replacements.

edit: Searching around I found another site that has the gears a little cheaper. Looks like 91$ shipped from here:
http://www.rmeuropean.com/Products/0...6-36e38284c2ee
Never ordered from them but it seems like a legit site

Awesome! I just ordered them..
One of my actuators was replaced at 38k but as far as I know the other is still original, this will be a cheap way to help them last a while longer.

Thank you so much!

Great suggestions, I was planning to do a bunch of this at some point so it only makes sense to do it all at the same time.

Another thing you could think about are sparkplugs if they haven't been serviced in awhile?

I will be doing spark plugs as well, but those can be easily done without removing the plenum...

Good to know! Figured it would be a bit easier with the plenum out of the way

Its more the airbox and the spark plug covers. Since they are already off for the stuff under the plenum it would certainly save some time...

Looking over the various DIYs for the Actuators...

Anyone know what sensor #23 is in the picture?
