Movin' on...

Just got another warning from the mods, and since I have a basic problem with them in regard to a moving target on what is currently proper and what is not, I'll bow out rather than have any concern when typing each and every reply.

I've enjoyed a fair bit of the repartee...

We can't lose Bruce! We won't just waive our white flag and diminish quietly in to the night. One for all, all for one.

Bruce, although I did not give you the warning, I will say that using foul language toward another member (even if it is somewhat masked with similar sounding characters) is not OK. I don't think there is anything unclear about that. You were not the only member who got a warning/infraction in that thread due to that type of exchange.

It is a very sad day that one of the more rational members of this forum who has been getting constant abuse from all corners and gets a bit vocal in his defense finally thrown in the towel saying enough is enough.

I can honestly say I know how he feels.

I was warned as well. I understood that I had been confrontational and had been pushing the limits a bit. So I toned it down for a while.

I believe the mods work within a framework that constrains their options. I was warned for something I thought of as minor at worst ("retard award"). If the mods warn you, it's because you are getting too far out of line. They will use whatever tool is available to them, but if you are being warned, you should know you're pushing your luck if you continue. If someone gets banned, it's obvious that their ego got in the way of common sense.

Later. Seriously, many of us at one time or another have been warned, and you just need to suck it up. I don't care what anyone said, if you are an adult you don't let a "kid" suck you down to his level, you just ignore his attacks or rude responses and move on. If you think that makes things unfair, welcome to life, its unfair, but something tells me you are more than old enough to know that and don't need me telling you

So come on back so we can argue some more

Cheers,
Mark

PG,

You know that I know how Bruce is feeling at the moment and you know why. But the problem isn't guys like Bruce or myself but some others which are spoiling this place to the extent that you have to second guess what are going to write before you have even clicked the send bar.

There is certain members at the moment trying to turn around posts, taking chippets of what's wrote and patching it together to suit their on ends, you know the ones and frankly it's very childish and needs to be sorted out once and for all.

Footie,

Let me say this: We're even more hesitant to warn or infract regular and long time members. For this reason, we discuss with each other or ask for a second opinion before issuing a warning or infraction.

Regarding those certain members: This is something that should be discussed via PM rather than in public. If you or anybody else feels harrassed by another member, just shoot a PM to L, PG or me. Though, chances are high that these members might have got an infraction already and are made well aware of their behaviour.

Best regards,
south
