The VT535 is a great product, performance wise, Scott trapped 124MPH with his VT535, very solid for only 5psi and street tires.

My mom still has a video of me one year at Xmas when I was 7 (26 now). Santa got me about 12 batman figures, the cave, etc. The only thing I didn't get was the Bat Mobile. After opening up all the stuff my Mom asks me "Do you like all of your gifts, did you have a good Xmas?". I turned to the camera and said "Yea this is awesome, all I need now is the Bat Mobile". She was pissed.
Long story short no matter what I have I always want more, and I guess I'm not the only one I can't wait to SC my M3 this year! |

OP: The 535 VT-1 Kit is Awesome! Best value for the money! Fast as Hell and you can upgrade at anytime if you want.
I have tracked mine without any problems. I was at Summit Point in July with 103 degree air temp and I fully expected overheating problems - Nothing, ran like a champ (at a decreased power level due to air temps and not being intercooled) and no limp mode like a few other cars experienced. I can't say enough good things about the VT-1. You will enjoy it! Good Luck!

Does anybody know if someone ran in the 11s with a VT1 on a manuel tranny or as done better trap then 117mph !? I'm really interested in the kit but I'm still trying to get an idea of the performance on a manuel car . The only VT1 manuel I saw on the 1/4 mile was doing worst time then my stock e92 M3 manuel ! If I could just get a confirmation that the VT1 would bring my car to a all new level of performance , that would realy ease my choice ! Seem's like the VT1 M3 manuel owners don't do a lot of drag or street race !

I wish it was that easy but the price difference from VT1 to VT2 is not something I can overlook ! In fact it's either a VT1 + Turner test pipes for around 9k or just the TTPs with Turner software for around 2k that are my best options . I don't care to pay for the VT1 if it performs like a 535hp car but it seems like no one with a manuel tranny as done any drag or race that would confirm the big whp gain that some VT1 owners claims on some dyno sheets ! I just wish someone would post a proof of a manuel VT1 trapping 118-120 or faster to confirm my choice ! All I see is a crappy video of a N/A DCT that let go the throttle when he start to get pass by the manuel VT1 !! Anyway if any manuel VT1 owners have good things to tell me about their set-up , it would be really appriciated or even bad things !
sorry for my vocab , I'm french ! |

I think the 535 is plenty. unless you have significant rubber in the back (i.e. 295+), you'll never be able to put that kind of power to the pavement in the lower gears. I have the 575 kit, and I can only get it to hook up in 2nd gear if the tires and pavement are both warm (I have 295 PS2s). I have never been able to hold 1st gear in any conditions. the place where the 575 kit and up make a difference is at higher speeds (i.e. 60mph and up). the problem, however, is that you can't do those kind of speeds legally in the U.S. unless you're on a track.
having said all that, I couldn't be happier with the 575 kit; it's a beast. I don't think you could go wrong either way. |

When I had the ESS Stage 1 on my e46 m3, it was a night and day difference. It made the car feel like what it should have been out of the box. While the power wasn't monstrous (360 ish whp), it was a blast to drive. For track applications it allowed me to keep up with the gutted and extremely weight reduced e46 m3's while keeping the car stock inside.
It will be a nice upgrade, you just have to tell yourself it's enough for whatever goal you have in mind. Coming from a 911tt x50 back to an m3 (e92 in this case), I enjoy the drive of the m3 more. 6850 rev limit in the 996tt drove me nuts, but the turbos picked up so damn quick. It was so civilized I got bored. The m3, IMHO is better looking and much more practical. I'll be going the ESS route soon, likely the 535 as anything intercooled in Arizona summers heat soaks like a mofo. If you're after straight line pulls, lots more power, go big or go home. If you want a nice boost over stock and want some road race / de track time, go 535. |

I want to revive this thread as I'm contemplating the purchase of the VT1-535 kit. I'm held up by the additional 3,000 of the VT2-575. I only see myself having this car another 2-2.5 years. I also want to do a few other upgrades and that 3,000 will pay for those.
So I think I could get all my mods 535 kit/KW SO kit/X-pipe/LCI tails for about the same price as just the VT2 575. I'm in the same boat, I just dont want to be disappointed in the 535 lvl kit. |

I'm really REALLY wanting to get the VT-535 kit, but I'm just really worried about the impact of this Florida heat/humidity year round on it, specially on the track!
I know for DD, I probably will be ok, and even for the occassional spirited driving on 90-100+ F heat, but on a nice track day here, where road temps exceed 110f easily, I'm not sure if my car will handle the 535 kit (no intercooler, etc). And thus I sit on the sideline...I can't afford the VT-6XX kits.

I am interested in this kit as well. My dilemma is that my other car is a head/cam Z06 making 560 rwhp. I love my M3 and would love it even more with a SC, but i fear it will never really feel fast no matter what i do.

My personal car runs a VT1-535 here in AZ where our temps are usually 100+. I daily and track the car here without issue and the car runs like a champ. Many of our customers also track the VT1-525. Like all systems heat will play a factor in power output intercooled or not and hot humid weather will reduce power in all cars.
If you find you need more power later down the road you can always upgrade |
