GregW-
Can you bend the tabs and make it fit more snugly? Is the actual manufacter's name stamped on the H8s? Is the OEM rubber washer perhaps a little thicker?

The tabs are short a double layer metal, so don't look too bendable. They say "Michiba". Washers look identical.

I do believe Xcellere just added these and from what I read, he had no problems with the install

Be aware that the downside of any of these bulbs is reduced light output. They achieve a "cooler" color temperature with a blue-coated lamp. The blue obviously absorbs a portion of the light.

The PIAA H3s are better than others, I believe, but they are $72 a pair (Xtreme White Plus), though you can find them for $50; (Bimmerworld) and also they do not make an H8.

Thanks for the heads up, but just wonder if it really matters on the light output if they are just for the halos and corner lights. Good news if they don't work out...only lost $42.00

Well, more light is usually better, though you are right these lights are nto as critical as headlights.

Greg, thanks for the feedback sorry to hear about the H8s not fitting...that last picture gives a real good idea of how this install will go, that space looks real tight i can already feel my hands cramping. ha.

The GP Thunders should fit without a problem, most of the E92ers use GP thunders and i havnt heard one problem about fitment.

Greg, if you can, return the bimmian H8s if you cant get them to fit correctly and try the GPs.

GP Thunders are alright. i wish they were a tad brighter. but they still make a HUGE difference. I had them on my 335, they fit just fine.

Greg- I've used PIAA for years and years... while expensive, they really are quality.

Do the cornering lights come on only come on under hard cornering?

Thanks!

I got my GP 8500s for $24 shipped from techsunny.com. Very fast shipping as well. The install was very simple.

PIAA is great. Cornering lights activate under 40 mph for cornering (not sure the steering wheel angle required).

License plate illumination

Just discovered the license plate is lit by LEDs under the trunk handle. Very white light--cool!

Bimmian H8 return

Just got an authorization to return the H8s that didn't fit properly to Bimmian. They said they were a new product and hadn't run across that. Downside is they are in Canada, so the return needs a PIA customs form and must be mailed from the PO. Not sure I will order from them again.

Oh, they did give me the option of keeping them and getting a $20 credit.

Greg, Bimmian has always sucked hard. Never order from them.
