Wheel picture request

Ive ordered my M3 in AW with black leather and left it with just teh standard 18 inch wheels which I intend to keep for track use.

This means I need some 19 or 20 inch wheels. Whilst they are only for road use I want decent quality ones so they are reasonably light, howver to continue the black and white theme I wanted black centered ones.

Current choice is the Breyton Spirit pictured below. I think 19s would be the best choice for handling etc but Im concerned that 19s in the style of wheel, being black, may look small and wondered if anyone had any pictures of a new M3 with black/polished rim wheels on in 19 or 20 inch please? Definately want polished rims rather than all black which arent to my taste.

Thanks. Yeah that looks great but im not sure of the size of those ones and also Im betting that car has been lowered.

Im a bit concerned about 20s and getting a jacked up look as well.

Those are nice wheels for AW Leg. I wouldn't go for the 20s though. It's going to start looking like a Suburban.

I think you're right, I dont fancy 20s tbh, really wary of f*cking the handling and ride. Do you think 19s in those wheels will look small or will the polished rim maintain the image of size?

Not sure whether to go for spacers either.

I think 19s will look fine. I'd be careful with offsets. OEM offset are ET29 front, ET23 rear (South came up with the specs). There has been discussion on this here if you missed it:

Also, do you know how much the 19s weigh?

I think the 20s on that thread look too big. Yes, they are a different design, but I'd still be concerned.

Definately sticking with 19s Lucid. Thats plenty big enough and I run 19 inch BBS CHs now on my TT (below) and it rides absolutely fine.

Im not sure on the weight (of these or the OEM 19s) and need to find out although I believe Breyton are quite good on weight. Thats what drew me to BBS for the TT as the CH is a pretty light wheel for its size. Ill watch the offsets too, thanks for the link.

Ill do some investigations, wonder of Google eh!

Hey, let me know if you find out anything about the weight of the stock 18s and the 19s. I've looked but couldn't find anything solid.

Your car is going to look great. I'm currently going with JB, but I've been thinking about AW. If I go AW, I wouldn't want the stock 19s as the white really is begging for dark wheels whereas the polished 19s go well with JB IMHO. Good luck!

Ah, I didn't see that or I forgot. What does unofficial mean? Is it someone weighing their own?

A site showing BMW wheels said "about 13kg." Either weighed on their own or an estimation.

The weight of the 18s in that post must be reversed.

I looked around the BBS, Breyton, and Mohr websites. It looks like the lightest 19" wheels one can buy are around 20lbs each, but they cost ~$1000 each. If the stock 19"ers are indeed 13kg, that would translate to about 8lbs of savings per wheel. 32lbs reduction in total vehicle weight will not affect acceleration significantly, but I wonder if the reduced rotational inertia might be noticable. Swamp can check that out in CarTest maybe?

I had those same wheels on my e46 M3 Jet black but in 18" as I wanted to keep ride quality intact and in NoVa, DC, MD the streets can be really jacked up. Anyway and they worked very well. No problems with offset either. I didn't use spacers for them at all. I would think the e92 M3 would be the same. Am not getting mine in black again or I'd consider it. easy to clean especially the lips however you do need to be careful...the lips can get dinged easy and scrapped with curb rash if you don't get the proper tire sizing to cover them.

I actually own those exact rims. They are on my 325i and look fabulous...Not if that helps but they are great!
