No. The car is from a dealer, ordered, not off the lot. It's not a local dealer sadly, but it's worth it when many are still charging MSRP.

I was asked to keep the dealer's location to myself, I'm just wanted to let people know it's possible. I apologize, I know it sounds strange.

The trick it to find the tiny dealers. No lists, open allocations.

This thread isn't very promising. You are keeping any specifics a "secret"? Who asked you to do that and why? That makes no sense.
I can tell you are in So Cal area and you are claiming $1500 over Invoice?

Good find! Originally, we were going to pick up 3 cars and ride the PCH home as a family trip. Things changed a bit though, and I wasn't able to find anyone in the SoCal area that'd budge off MSRP.

OK, that still doesn't answer any of the questions posed.
Also, why would you look in So Cal if you weren't close? Why that specific portion of CA instead of others?
Lots of holes...

I didn't realize I created this thread to answer your questions and not to let fellow BMW'rs know that discounts are available.

I presume you already purchased an M3, for MSRP probably, and are a bit upset at there being discounts? Is that why there's so much doubt?

edit: Ahh, found it. $1K off MSRP. That's good, especially on your post date of 2/14. Discount before launch is awesome!

It's more than $1k off MSRP on an E92. I provided specifics to substantiate my claim. I didn't say that I was told to keep quite on where I got the car. Why would a dealer not want the extra business from such a claim?
You should have anticipated this type of reaction from your post which was completely void of believable facts.
I guess I should have expected this based on your "gut feelings" about my car purchase for MSRP.

I think this whole thread is obnoxious. No backup and just words, sounds to me like bragging.
Whatever, I have my M3 on its way to my hands, and I am more than happy paying what I did. I got it fast and on time.

you dont have to tell us the dealer. so you are in Cal. but what state is the dealer in Idaho? AZ?

my dealer gave me a discount with the understanding I would not publish it as they are still trying to get MSRP. so I can understand that.

At least one other person understands. Thank you. Hopefully there are more people looking to purchase than have purchased, and this will be helpful to them.

Good luck to everyone else still hunting for the best deal!

Good for you on the deal, but also I agree I don't understand why you want to keep the dealer a secret? Do they want more business? Are they doing something they don't want to get in trouble for? Doesn't make sense. This thread is useless with out dealer name and location. lol

The dealer is still trying to get MSRP so he doesn't want to advertise $1500 over invoice, eating up all of the allocations, when he could be getting MSRP from people wanting the cars.

It's not useless, it's useful. If I'm shopping for a car and I know that at least one person got $1500 over, you bet I'm going to shop around a bit more.

I can't provide proof yet, I don't have the car. So, you can continue to doubt me, which is fine, or you can believe me. And find a good deal with a little legwork. It's no gain to me either way.

[QUOTE=eluder;2480551]The dealer is still trying to get MSRP so he doesn't want to advertise $1500 over invoice, eating up all of the allocations, when he could be getting MSRP from people wanting the cars.

Then I don't know why they wasted an allocation to give you $1500 0ver invoice. That is a great discount. Something like that happened to buddy of mine and when the car arrived they said they made a mistake and said it was supposed to be $1000 under MSRP instead of over invoice. It was on a 3 series but you get the point. Also it's not like you one of their regular customers so I don't get it. If you are definetly getting this discount, then bravo, great, you are a great negotiator. I tip my hat to you man, awesome.
