The remotes are units we buy in so have no control over that part unfortunately, but if you were electronically inclined I guess you could hook up a system to do just that.

There has been the winter break, but development is essentially complete and the first production units are not far away at all. We're simply awaiting the final production units to be able to post all the images, sound and videos.

As above, it is a key fob with an open and close button. We haven't looked into having it work with other buttons in the car, purely due to the time and costs involved in developing such a system. We want to get it out there to you guys as quick as possible!

Can you make a video or graph to compare the sound in the cabin (possibly with a sound meter) with the system open and closed versus stock and with the windows open/ closed? the sound is great, but with my convertible, the interior sound level comparisons at city cruising rpm (1,500-2,000) and highway cruising (2,500-3,500) are important considerations for me when I cannot avoid daily traffic.

What sort of power difference might be expected by putting 200 cpi high flow cats in the location of the stock primary cats with straight pipe in the location of the stock secondary cat, versus straight pipe in the location of the stock primary cats and 200 cpi high flow cats in the location of the stock secondary cats?

We new it wouldn't be for everybody, we took the decision to make it to as high a quality as we could which of course increases the cost, but we have still made is affordable as we could given the investment

This is a very complex design with helmoltz resonator and chamber inside.
This is not just some simply set of straight pipes inside a muffler.
It's not easy to develop an exhaust with almost zero drone on quiet with no loss of power and then on the loud sound the way it does.
Doesn't matter where you take production (assuming same quality), this is not cheap to produce.
Compare it to non valve systems which are similar in price and are basically majority straight pipes inside a heavy big box....

Not taking anything away from the massive R&D and effort you guys have put in..it would just be nice to see a solution that didnt cost as much as a used car..I know its an M3 it would just be nice for once not to have to pay the premium M price

That said I really struggle to understand why the costs are so high..I have had quality full mandrel bent systems on 335i, VWs, G37s..never cost more $2K..This is obviously not the same as those systems..much higher end..but still...thats my take on it.

I can assure you there is no M tax here.
Our normal non valved systems are much cheaper.

Also, X pipes all vary in price. Ours has resonators and high quality 200cell cats.
We can make a catless non res one for much cheaper.

To just to comment on the pricing as well. There is no doubt that as a whole, this system is expensive. But breaking down the pricing and looking at the value of your dollar spent, there is nothing as "bang for your buck" compared to Evolve's E-Tronic Exhaust.

I've mentioned this before, but take the most commonly purchased muffler for the E90 M3 from a very well known company. Their muffler is around $2840, then an additional $585 for connecting pipes. In total, it ends up being $3425. That's a whopping $75 cheaper than Evolve's E-Tronic Muffler.

I'm not sure where Evolve sources their cats from, but I got quotes for HJS 200cpsi cats recently and it was more than half the price of Evolve's XPipe. Add in the cost of resonators, piping, and production costs.

In the end...I want one of these systems, haha.

It will indeed fit the E93.

We will make a video as soon as we can with what you have asked.

Will try and put it on a convertible and then do the test with sound meter.

I can tell you now, there is absolutely minimal drone on quiet mode and it's very very civilized.

Sorry for insanely late reply!

You would not want to do this as it would definately keep alot of the back pressure unless the CAT's were huge.. then they would cause ground clearance issues.

The best and only way to do this is to delete primary and keep secondary high flow.

It is however a very very good question.

This really has nothing to do with the car being an M3 and everything to do with the materials and resources involved. It is aggressively priced for what it provides and the research backing it. Also - lower volume cars means higher prices, typically, from manufacturing resources. The M3 also has quite a bit of actual pipe and needs significant attention to exhaust note.

Honestly, when I read the original post, and before I saw the price, I was very concerned it would be much higher which I thought would be too high for enough volume.

You have to realize the resources include the physical material as well as Sal and Evolve's time. I've never seen anyone disclose this much information on their development. I also doubt that many, aside from companies like Akrapovic, actually do the same level of testing. Who do you want designing your exhaust, a mathematician or a guy at Meineke? : )
