Full de-catted combinations.
I've got a custom made x-pipe which is fully cattless with silencers. I've ran a modified standard bac box which was too loud then changed to an eisenmann race back box. But im getting bored of the eisenmann, it sounds amazing but I want something with a different "tone" and not as loud.
So who's all running cattless X-pipes and what back box sounds the best? |

I run decatted primarys and kept my secondaries in the factory x pipe, and have the ACM muffler mod. Love it.

I'm running full decat with Eisenmann Race right now. Never get bored of the sound and have yet heard a setup I like more personally.
If you want a deeper, more rumblier American V8 sound, try that setup with Borla. It's also quieter.

Catless akra sounds really good. Heard one local. I think it sounds better with a steel x-pipe over the akra gt-4. It is more raw sounding for sure.

Akra sucks if you want exotic. It doesn't sound great at all but that's just my opinion. I have been through 5-6 setups and know exactly what you mean. Once you remove the cats the race mufflers or modified OEM mufflers get very, very loud and are loud all the time and it's annoying.
I had Gintani, Supersprint, OEM, muffler delete, etc, and after I had a custom x pipe built (also 4 resonators and all cats removed) the sound was too much. I then paired it with a sport rear muffler (Hartge made by SS) and the sound was perfect. Still very loud under WOT but while cruising it's almost stock like with no intrusive noise. Literally the best of both worlds is running a sport rear muffler and cat delete x pipe. It will let you have the loud volume when you want it but also be civilized and not sound like a high school kid in a Mustang when wanted also. The Hartge rear I have is also for sale and sounds very high pitched and exotic. See here>>>> http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1075232 Sounds high pitched and still throaty. Really is the best setup I have heard (and I have been through many). Also very rare and literally the 2nd one I have ever seen for sale here. Only selling to fund my Porsche project. |

switch from a box style to two can straight exhaust style and see if that helps or listen to somebody's in person. borla and akra make great exhausts. there's also a few dinan exhausts for sale in the used parts section.

It's like having a valved setup controlled by your right foot. @ Idle you can't really tell the car has an exhaust. It's awesome. |

I'm adding two Vibrant 1792's to my Catless X-Pipe tomorrow. It currently has two unidentifiable resonators on it behind the X section and I will be adding the vibrant's ahead of the X section. If that still doesn't do it for me, I'll be replacing the current resonators with Vibrant 17930's. I'll do a before and after on it all. I have a suspicion that I'm going to end up replacing the other set of resonators as well. I really want the same sound I had before, except a tad louder up top.
My other quad resonated catless midsection had 4x Vibrant 17930's and it had 0 drone, 0 rasp and a very unique/high pitched exhaust sounds in the higher RPM's which iPhones just can't pick up. |

I'm fully catless the only some what of a resonator I have is what comes wits the revinora Race + axle back
It's loud and it's gonna be louder once I install my 625 kit thinking about either putting resonators or 100 cell HFCs

Above 3k, it's louder when you are on the gas.
