You're fine for now. Em potholes can do that to these tires. Would suggest getting a tire within the next 1000 miles.

Tough call. That is pretty subtle and tires seriously cost.

Frankly, I'd probably let it go and just get new tires a little ahead of schedule after some decent wear.

A new tire would be recommend to any tire that has a bubble. Hit a pot hole or a curb and it could burst, but that doesn't look major.

I would not travel at high speed with that tire. Leave it on until a new set of 2 arrives (one for the left and one for the right side of your car).

You are driving a performance car, my recommendation would be to replace both left and right side.

I wanted to get an unbiased opinion but does your answer change if I tell you I have a wheel maintenance program? Tires are covered, right?

yes if you have the rim and tire protection plan they will replace your tire with a bubble at no extra cost bring it in to dealer

I would say change the tire (and replace in a set of 2 if the miles are more than a few thousand).
Not worth the risk that the bubble will not cause a blowout. See this in my work with oil rigs where people say that a bend in the derrick won't cause a failure until after a loss of life injury where everyone says it should have been a no brainer to replace the bent section.
Your warranty makes the choice much easier.

You have to read the fine print those insurances differ here and then. If you have both wheel and tire yes I say it is covered ... have a read they gave you a document when you paid for it.

If you have wheel maintenance program then why not just take it in for a free tire replacement? I know you're running OEM rims/tires but just as an FYI my dealership covers any brand of tires and any brand of rim under this 'insurance'. Check if yours does the same just in case you ever get the mod bug..

if i didnt have the insurance and i wasnt going to the track then i would just leave it.

if i had the insurance or plan to bring the car to the track then this would be changed out immediately.

I'm no tire expert, but: You drive a car capable of 155 mph, and extreme handling. I personally would replace that tire regardless of cost, having that tire let go in a fast corner would not be fun.

I got both front tires with wall bubbles. The one on the left looks really bad
courtesy of Maryland roads, specially around Bethesda and Silver Spring.

Putting the tire replacement off for a little while. Hope they dont pop.
I had just to replace a tire because a nail and the dealership would not repair
the tire. Getting tired of RFTs. Complete hassle having them on.

at least in my book it is
a bubble is an area of the tire that has been compromised
and i value my life more than the cost of 1 or even 2 tires

If it was a non-performance car, then I might think twice, on a M3 without a doubt I would change it, I wouldn't be able to drive the car the same...

I would'nt call myself a 'tire expert' either, but I'm in the wholesale tire business and have seen my share of damages/injuries caused by tire failure.

Please replace the tire, insured or not.
