Nice sounding rear section for ~$1700?

I'm wondering what sort of bolt-on exhausts are available in the price range of $1700 +/- $300ish. I'd be looking for something relatively tame, just a bit more grunt over stock. I'd pay more for a valved system, but was wondering what is available for around that price with good sound and, importantly, no or very little drone. I looked into Innotech and discovered they are just too loud, for example.

I noticed the RPi GTC rear section, as well as Dinan. Any other suggestions for me? Weight/hp not really a concern to me, just noise!

If there really is nothing that doesn't drone and sounds solid in that price bracket, I suppose I'll have to pony up to Akra..

I would put Corsa high on the list. Not the prettiest but great noise and zero drone. I've got the OEM mod but I did that just as a stop-gap until I decide on an aftermarket one.

PM me for a local shop that will sell and install it for $2K.

I went with AE Performance, and get many comments on how nice it sounds. Proir to that I did the Fabspeed Xpipe. The Xpipe made the stock system a good bit louder, so I can't really say how much the AE cans added. Check out some clips, you might like the tone.

Just keep your eye out in the used section. There's always something available.

+1 on AE..had their full system on a 335i and sounded amazing and was only $1500 for a full Downpipe back system..not too loud but a great sound..

For the M3 its $2K for just section 3..M3 tax?..IDK..but def too much money for what you get

I highly doubt that..the only exhaust I have come accross that even guarnatees zero drone is the AE...but the decible levels between that and an Eisenmann are night/day

AE did go on to later to admit there might be a tad bit of drone. From my reading here the only two exhausts that seem to get nearly universal agreement on no drone are the M perf, corsa, and Dinan and only the corsa will fall into his price point.

I got my Bastuck for $850 used and shipped to me. Tone is the same as stock, but louder. I like it so far.

Actually the RPi GTC catback exhaust without the xpipe is pretty tame. i had on the RPi GTC catback till my breakin service then added the RPi cat delete/x pipes because it was too quiet.

Awesome feedback, that's what I needed to hear. I'll probably avoid it . I want quiet.. but not stock quiet.

Seems a little loud. Anyone else have this installed? It has great sound though.

I am extremely happy with my B&B exhaust. Very little drone, it doesn't break the bank and it looks fantastic.

MILLTEK.

Not too many people talk about it. Much more popular in Porsche and Audi circles, but do a search and find a sound clip. Just what you are looking for.

Remus Sport has to be on your list. Well within your price range installed and looks better than many of the options listed above. Minimal to no drone, somewhat deeper than stock and screams when you floor it.

RPI GTc, loud at start up, loud on acceleration but nice low rumble at idle. I thought it was way toooo loud initially but I've gotten used to it and I love it. The exhaust is tits.

Another vote for Corsa or used Dinan.

Good f**king find dude. That exhaust sounds great, especially for approximately $1700. If there is no drone I may have found an exhaust...finally.

If it has to be reasonable noise levels: used AA
If it can be loud: Eisenmann Race

+1^ I have the Remus Race system it's loud as hell but I can't get enough of it. Don't give a crap about the drone. As far as build quality and price point go I would say you should consider the Remus Sport system as well.
