anyone go to SUNY Maritime?

im Accepted to SUNY Maritime and went for an accepted student day today but it seems like it is really strict. Anyone go or graduate from there and did you like it?

My cousin went there. Its very strict, you'll have PT every morning and be in uniforms for class, you'll be on watch certain nights. But the one cool thing i thought was that my cousin went on tour every summer for 2 months to Europe. You'll get to visit all the cities and get to go off ship and party. But yes its very strict not your normal college.

i lived right down the street from the school when i was younger so i have some friends that go there and on top of that my mother was a professor there and they all say its very strict every thing is yes sir no sir you wear uniforms to classes and there are not too many partys that go on and you get drug tested there. Its a good school of you are looking for that type of structure in your college life... of not then the school is not for you.

Wow. I know that in the naval academy there's no electronics or contact with the outside world for six weeks. But a semester without bimmerpost and YouTube would be too much.

one of my good friends went there actually. Yea its pretty strict, at least your first year it is. It gets more lenient as you progress in the school i believe. However they do have random drug tests i believe. What are you majoring in?

its tru that you cant have a tv, fridge, or listen to music in your room since they are "distractions". But my plan is to major in marine engineering

thought about Texas a+m Galveston? Almost all my business partners went there and graduated in marine transportation. Don't think it was nearly as strict. I've been to Mass maritime for training and thought it was pretty nice also.
