Are these worn?

Just kidding. New tires later today.

I got the car with the stock Michelin's on it at 55k miles. The previous owner took them off and ran aftermarket wheels/tires. I'm still using the front Mich.

I got about 5k out of the orig rear Mich, then put on some 275/30 19 Conti's I had on my 328xi with about 5k left, (in pic), now installing a set of new 285/30 19 v12's today. Can't ignore the price. I will replace the front eventually with a little bit larger tire, probably 255/30, maybe 265. Keeping it under 26" diameter.

I can't really compare the traction Mich vs. Conti, since both sets were worn from the beginning. I can say the car can spin both fairly easily.

I'll post a pic or two after the new tires are on.

That's better! BUT! - NEVER go to Big-O in Yucca Valley California for tire service of any kind.

Agreed. Overinflated. Also, my Contis feel good with this much tread. Think about it, you've got an increased contact patch now!

I agree with your premise but I error on the safe side so I don't get a puncture. No spare, no such tire in stock until the next day, etc.

I ran the pressure only a half pound over what it takes to keep the low tire warning from coming on. And they still wore in the middle.

Yeah, I sort of agree. It's been rainy here and they aren't very safe in the rain when they are that low.

Strange, I run the same Contis and mine don't wear heavily in the middle like that. I run 34 PSI front and back.

I would fill them to a lower pressure and then reset the TPM to calibrate it around that pressure. The sensor goes off when the pressure drops about ~ 8-10 psi below the pressure that you set the sensor to. It is a relative pressure measurement system.

Nothing to add to this thread, but right before I get new rear tires on, love finding a parking lot to do some burnouts and donuts....

I didn't know that. I'll try it. I'm at 33 psi now.

I have a sister in Rochester. She is at the University.

I just got a new set of 275/35-19 Conti Extreme DWS's as my rears. I wasn't able to do the burnouts 'cause I was simply swapping out the brand new summer 265/35-19 DW's that came with the car (I'm kind of annoyed they don't seem to make this size anymore.)

BTW, if anyone needs a new summer rear set of 265's, shoot me a PM. I'm sure we can work something out

Kidding...awesome! You can't ALWAYs be responsible and sensible... I still say your rear tires are overinflated. Rear tires on just about every non-X BMW will wear out the insides of the rear tires.

I try to explain to people how bad the cops are up here. Do you agree? They're out of control. You get a ticket for 2 mph over the speed limits through towns. If you're in 29 you have to go the speed limit all the way from the grade to home. That's unreasonable and not on par with a fair expectation of enforcement.

I hardly ever go less than 10mph over. You just have to know where the cops hide out.

I lowered the pressure to about 32 psi. Reset the monitor no problem. Did my 328xi TPMS work the same way?

Cornering I'm getting DSC light action in the dash cluster and I can feel the intervention in turns where I never did before! My front to back diameters are identical currently.

Stock diameters are 25.8 f 26.3 r. A half inch difference.
With the conti's it was 25.8 f 25.5 rear with 275/30 and no DSC issues.
Now with new V12's 25.8 f 25.8 rear with 285/30

Why is the square (diameter wise) setup causing problems? And why didn't the Conti's which were actually smaller than the front?
