Hi Dogears... I can see how that can come across confusing, as for the 100% throttle opening, we absolutely get that, with or without the Sprint Booster... it's just the rate that the throttle's open fully. It happens quicker with the Sprint Booster.

That's all that I was saying.

I think you should get it!... It'd be great to have your input after installed!

I'm quite interested in this product, but just wanted to also give a little insight to what I experienced of late...

I complained to my wife how the throttle response was horrible without Power button on as I really like to rev-match when downshifting like my SMG E46 M3 has taught me to understand & do with the 6sp. Well I got & installed the APE Performance Air Filter yesterday & today (when I finally got time to drive my car) I had remarkably better throttle response & was able to blip the throttle much better with power button off! I don't know if it's a fluke, but with the stock air filter in, I would give my car gas & nothing would happen quick enough.

Anyway, sorry to digress...I am still interested in this for the "drivability" factor.

This is interesting as I have been thinking about the same issue even between the stock throttle settings, that the sport+ setting might possibly result in a higher valve rotation rate apart from whatever the static "pedal input <--> valve" mappings are in each setting. However, how do you know that is the case--that the rate is even adjustable in our cars? (The rate must also obviously be proportional to the rate at which you depress the pedal.) This is not a rhetorical question as I would really like to know.

The chart on the Turner website kind of gets at this, but it is not exactly clear:

Say you floored it and the ETC output is at 4.6 V. Let's assume you are superhuman, and you smashed it instantaneously. The chart kind of indicates that you will get "Full throttle" 0.1 seconds faster with the "booster" although I am having difficulty reading the x-axis labels (it seems non-linear). Also, it is not clear what "full throttle" or "3/4 throttle" mean exactly. Do they correspond to actual valve angles? If so, and if this is indeed real data, that's good. However, this seems to be a generic plot. How does it look for the E9X M3? BMW has gone far with trying to lighten engine internals, using individual throttle bodies, and so on to imrprove throttle response on their top of the line production sports car, and if there was something simple like this that they could have done to improve it, why would have they left it on the table? These are the kind of questions on my mind...

One way to find out is to simply try it I guess, but one might have a hard time accurately differentiating between the static vs dynamic response issues that we are talking about here given the manufacturer's claim seems to be centered around a difference of 0.1s or less.

Lucid, this is good info... and I'd say that while BMW works hard to make a great car... they also understand that plenty of 'not so great' drivers may attempt to put themselves in over their heads. So... that is why 'most' of the cars come from the factory setup to 'push' instead of 'oversteer'... as it is a safer position to be in over your head than the latter. Same would go for rate of Throttle bodies opening... it also the same as to why they 'limit' the Torque values, and why tunes help so much. etc.. etc..

Peace,
Dave

The Tuner webpage referenced in the OP has a link to installation instructions.

Installation is pretty straight forward... but it's really not a simple 'plug in / plug out'... i've always left mine in... it is mostly hidden, and the dealer has never noticed.

There is a good install thread of another companies product.. that is like the sprintbooster... but seems to be adjustable too... it's located here:

All this thing does is reduce the actual resolution of your pedal (hall effect?) sensor. Waste of money, push your foot down faster or use Sport+.
