the tips are adjustable so it may just give you the extra length to fit an e92. however, akrapovic has two different model numbers for each (e90/e92).

My installer indicated the mid-pipe joint was adjustable and there was some room to push the exhaust backwards if needed to fit the coupe

Mid -pipe is same, but the axle back is different, so it could look a little strange

Interesting - one vendor told me they are the same - but obviously not.

Do you know what the differences are specifically?

I'm going to take a close up photo tomorrow of the E90 muffler, on a similar angle to pictures of the E92 muffler on this forum...

The main difference is the where the tips are adjustable.
for the E90 the tips have to be pushed all the way. The E92 comes close to the end where the pipes connect.

Can't wait to get mine on my car.

This could be the difference between the E90 and E92 - see below...

The muffler on the right has shorter connecting pipes for the tail pipes - it appears I was shipped mismatched E90 and E92 mufflers in error, however this could be by design, waiting to hear back from Akrapovic on this...

If you already have it just measure it yourself. Adjust the tips out to where it would be on e92 and see if it will work.

I have the exhaust system but not the car...was trying to sell the Akra but if its just the tips that are different will keep the system until I get the car. I have searched a lot but no solid answer quite yet. I also thought the E90 M3 tips were longer?

See the pics above...if the E90 M3 system is the one to the left then my answer is pretty evident! I would only have to have the pipes cut back to E92 M3 length and ENJOY!!!

thoughts?

Ah. Gotcha, thought you had the car. The e92 tips are longer than the e90 also.

The tips, ti or carbon E90 to E92 are all the same length. The ONLY difference is the e92 is 1.5" longer from the back of the muffler to the end of the bent pipe. Everything else is exactly the same.

Does anyone happen to know if the CF tips are the same length as the Ti? I traded my Ti tips for a set of CF tips and I swear the CF tips are more sunken in on the car than the Ti tips. And it doesn't appear that I have much room to pull the tips out.

Before anyone asks: I checked the muffler just to be sure and "E92" is clearly in the part number.

I have an E92 Akra Evo on my E90. I adjusted the tips inwards and it sits flush to the bumper so I'd imagine an E90 system would adjust outwards to fit an E92.

If it bothers you that much, I'll trade ya! lol @M3etM3
