I have an 8500 X50 now, will be upgrading as soon as I can find a steal on eBay.

I just bought the BEL Sti, love it. Very few false alarms, range is better than V1, Brand new technology, magnesium alloy encasing, much better switches and controls than V1

I'm happy with my V1... BEL Sti is also highly recommended, I haven't used one yet but would consider trying one next

+1, The V1 is very good, but too too noisy- false alerts. The 9500i is just as effective with comparable range to the V1. Additionally, the 9500i's ability to remember gps locations provide an nearly silent detector. Does it really make a difference if one alters in 2500 vs 2600 feet. Either way your half a mile away and out of the cops reach. I want to enjoy the sound of the V8 or the Premium Audio, not the constant beeping of the V1 false alarms.

9500i = E92 ///M
V1 = E46 ///M-
The e46 is great car but is now dated. When the e92 was introduced, E46 owners, argued thier car was would be better. But sooner or later something better comes along.

The same applies to the V1, its great but now dated.

9500i.... just works out of the box, GPS makes it more or less sensitive depending on the speed. love it.

I'm in country TX (not NJ or wallet-destroying VA)... and if you get a tkt in 12m and not another you can do the drivers' safety course ...

That guy (Craig Peterson) is notoriously bias, and his findings do not match multiple, consistent findings from other testers.
