Yeah it may or maynot pop, not sure. I ran it tonight pretty hard till top of 5th. Ill get that fuel system here shortly, i hope.

be careful John, i like that you are increasing the boost and testing things but you are rolling the dice on a $15k bet. do it slowly on dynos with good a/f readings not the tail pipe sniffers. good luck.

ps, where did you get that pulley puller?

The shop i went to had the puller haha, and yeah i know its risky but im just rolling the dice to see. I feel the E85 is helping against the detonation (i could be wrong) but it also runs into the issue of it could be causing it to running out of fuel. So it kind of cancels itself out. When i throw it on the dyno ill post results. If it is running lean or out of fuel the car isnt letting me know. No fuel pump malfunctions or hesitations. I haven't done 6th gear pulls but ive maxed 5th.

I did a test 60-130 pull. Started in 3rd gear since my 2nd cant grip. When i get some R888 ill try a 2nd gear kick to see if it will help the launch. 40 degrees out this evening.

So this is the dyno on the 3.33" pulley. Ran it on STD. Yes, past 7500 it is losing power and fuel. But she did 620/435. With the correct fuel system i might be about to pick up an extra 30-40hp and 20-30wtq on 10psi. But just to give you guys an idea how this car does on full E85 using the advanced fuel dynamics PROFLEX commander.

You really are pressing your luck here. You are completely out of injector and pump on full e85 at that boost. if the car had the proper fuel the power would have kept going. You are seeing the same thing that happen on your last dyno. The power flattens out as you are out of fuel and iff the boost is still drop you may actually have a small leak. possibly the manifold lifting.

Yeah im looking into putting in a fuel pump in with my shop. Ive been searching the web for info on pumps people use when going aftermarket and stuff. I think the increased fuel flow will fix the issue. Im not 100% sure if ill need injectors. Ill put in the pump first and see how she does. I know Gintani has a full fuel system out with the use of their tune but i just dont want to spend $4k for the system and another thousand for install. So i am currently looking at other options. For now i just make sure i shift before 7500/7700. Might boil down to using Gintanis. I have no problem with their products, i loved their tune when i was N/A, just kind of pricey

I can tell you now with out question your injectors are too small. 440CC injectors on a 8cylinder are already small on pump gas at 550whp the fuel pump is already compensating buy increasing pressure. You now are using a fuel that requires roughly 30 percent more to make the same power and you are now over that mark by a decent range. An easy way would be hook up a loggin software and do a log I can promise you are over 100percent duty cycle.

I thought VF green injectors were 550cc? I might be mistaken though.

Yikes. Yeah i need bigger injectors then. I guess size will be the big question... and which fuel pump...

My question is: why? As multiple people have pointed out, you are rolling the dice on a $15k engine and the odds are stacked heavily against you. Are you not satisfied with the tried and true "safe" power of a 650 kit? The limits of the S65 internals are fairly well known at this stage of the game so why reinvent the wheel at your own expense?

If you are prepared to drop in a new engine and you're just doing this for fun to see what's possible before it blows, then have at it. But if this is your DD I just don't understand why you would push the limits so hard.

Either way,

Either way,
I just want more power, thats all. I want to see how far it can go. I have a pretty good grasp of it being at/over the limit. But i like doing a lot of roll racing so i want something fast to do so when i go go Mexico... if i came this far, i surely wont stop now that it only needs a fuel system... haha.

We'll see how you feel after you invest in a fuel system and then proceed to bend a rod or two. I hope I'm wrong!

440cc at 3 bar, 550cc at 5 bar. so depends on fuel pressure.

Gotta pay to play. End of the day, a supplemental fuel system (with install) is significantly less expensive than a replacement motor. If you really want to pinch pennies, contact Gintani about their S65 Supercharger Meth System (part of their 2.5 SC Kit). That should help keep everything in check, but it's certainly no where near as safe as a proper fuel system upgrade.

Ill eventually get the system if nothing else pops up. I am a Gintani fan so it wont be an issue running their products. I dont want to do meth, not a fan of it really

Has anyone ever tried to use a boost a pump or something of that nature on the M3? Is it even something that would work? I know shelbys, mustangs, ect always use them.

I use one on my built motor 700rwhp turbo E36M3 to make sure I am safely getting enough fuel from my DW300 pump when feeding 60 lb injectors at 51 psi base pressure and running up to 25 psi boost, but that car has a conventional fuel system.

The E90M3 has a fuel pump module regulating voltage to the pump to adjust flow. I think the module will conflict with the voltage booster. Look into what Drew did on his VT700 kit — others with big power have converted as well. I cannot recall the details but you can search. I think they convert to a conventional fuel system.

But beware as others have cautioned that around the same time you need more fuel if running 93 pump you also need stronger rods and lower compression. If running less efficient (but higher octane) E85, the point at which you deliver less fuel is reached earlier.

Yeah that makes sense. Currently im at the point to where i will go back to 93. I dont see it running out of fuel with running just 93. of course i will see a significant drop in power but it will be worth it to have a working kit till i can figure out this fuel system. I like running e85 because it is a lot harder to detonate e85 vs regular gas

you actually may not see a drop in power as the car won't be going lean anay more it will be hitting it's targets if the car is going lean it puls timing. I would be surprised if you make more power up top.
