It's been beat to death on Bob is the Oil Guy:
https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ub...81/540RAT_Blog https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forum...pics/3966240/1 https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ub...pics/4345004/1 The short of it is that his tests are in no way in line with any established standards and do not come close to replicating engine conditions. He's just pissing away money on weird tests that mean nothing.

I used to run M1 0w40, didn’t like consumption on it so switched to redline 5w40 and consumption was a bit better but then started blending with 5w50 and consumption dropped again. You can see on the history one of my bearings started to wipe and I got a lead spike on the testing so that’s why the different viscosities.
First change after 400 miles was 10w60 the shop did. Then I ran 5w50 redline on this past change. First time the car has ever been at zero lead on a report. Had one like 4ppm 5 years ago or something but it was averaging 8.

I was running M1 0W40 with a little M1 15W50 mixed in. Now after BE/APR bolts, now sure what to run, particularly after some ugly main bearings that have been shown here. I'm temped to run the M1 15W50 with some 0W40 mixed in. The M1 at Walmart combined with the rebate is hard to pass up $12/5 quart jug. Especially if changing the oil at 7,000 intervals.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
