PPI inspection

Is it worth/necessary to have a PPI on a low mileage used car if it is still well under original warranty or simply enough to check service history and carfax? An unreported accident would be my biggest fear.

What exactly do you mean with PPI
  • Payment Protection Insurance?
  • Producer Price Index?
  • Progressive Policy Institute
or might you mean .... PPI Motorsports is a race team which competes in the Nextel Cup Series. The team is one of the few remaining single car operations in Cup, running a Tide-sponsored Chevrolet for Bobby Hamilton Jr..

Don't you think you could type out what you actually mean by PPI??? Perhaps if you would you get some relies

Bottom line: it's a used car.

It's always worth the money to have a third party (that knows what they are doing) look at a used car before you buy.

Absolutely. It's usually only $150-200 - isn't that worth it to make sure everything really is fine when looking at a $50k+ purchase? Make sure YOU choose the place that does the PPI.

That was kind of my thought, especially if the car was older and out of warranty. Just wasn't sure how common it would be when buying a car with only a few thousand miles on it and that was less than a year or two old. You would assume any major issues would be on BMW service reports since the car would have been taken to the dealer for them since it is still under warranty. I guess better safe than sorry.
