I'm not overly impressed, but I anticipate the times will get somewhat better. I have to admit with all the hype, I was thinking they'd trounce the E9X.

Oh they trounce the hell out of our e92's in any performance category.

E9X really can't even carry the C7's water bottle or clean its Jock...

People need to understand e9x m3 isn't in the same classes as all these other cars... ( we are more in range of C63, rs4/5, etc..) Plus our cars/engines are dated since we are at the end of the run.

Wait for the m3/4 lol

C6 automatics were about two tenths and three mph off well-driven stick times, and since it's the same auto and similar stick, I'd bet that still stands.

Best magazine stick time I've seen so far is a 12.0 @ 118. Still a little short of Chevy's claimed time of 12.0 @ 119, but the Chevy guys were powershifting, and none of the big-time magazines do that.

Sorry but this has the turbo M4 beat already. You would think M would give us better performance numbers as far as HP goes since they are making us give up the NA V8. Oh well, at least the guys who buy M cars and then whine about gas mileage will be happy.

I cant wait to test drive a C7.

Interesting, doesn't look like it's any faster than an ls3 c6. Pretty strange that they claimed it would be close to the c6 z06 performance numbers....

In a straight line the C7 is only a little faster than the LS3 C6. On a track, it's a different story where it is posting significantly faster lap times. Stop light racing is for boys, road courses are for men

M3's aren't designed to compete with Corvettes, both models kind of beat to their own drum.

The M3 (Soon the M4) will always be the basis for which other performance cars are compared. It's the standard. Sure there are faster, more spacious, better handling, better all weather traction etc etc, but not a single one of them puts it all together better than the M3.

M3's aren't meant to be put on a pedestal. They aren't meant to be the middle class Ferrari that they are often mistaken for. They are mass produced and made to do everything, year around while putting a huge grin on your face.

It lapped Laguna faster, with less tire by about 2 seconds. I'm referring to the fixed suspension C6 Z06 that was quite the king in its hey-day 7:41.99 ring time on the Eagle F1 run flats.
That would put the C7 in the 7:30's for sure...Their adopting a European formula, improving the suspension and the chassis mainly, slight power bump, all while cloaking it in Pontiac Aztec and Chevy Cruze interior bits (

M3 isnt even close to being the basis for which all cars are compared. That would be the 911.

Within the C63 AMG, RS5, ISF, M3...yes the M3 is the benchmark but even BMW sees Porsche as the benchmark.

As for the Corvette time, trap is good and so is ET, still wouldnt want to own one though. The styling is much better than any previous vette but just seems like a miss mosh of chevy car and ferrari into one.
