Bull Crap, they enjoy your hard earned goods.... they could drive it for max 5-10 miles. After that its abuse of trust. They should ask for permission for anything above 10 miles.

Yes,

I do believe they drove close to 20 miles on my car the 1 st time I dropped it off at BMW of Towson. I could clearly see some foot prints on the rear mats and later I found few french fries under the front seat. I didn't write down the mileage when I dropped it off. I couldn't prove it so I didn't say anything and looking at the invoice doesn't help b\c they can manipulate the mileage "in" on the printed sheets.

Now I write it down or take a picture of the mileage right before I get out of the car at the dealership.

I suppose the french fries left under the seat provide leather-conditioning vapors? Perhaps extra lubrication for the seat tracks? I guess techs have to eat sometimes, too.

thats something else.

if there is a check engine light on the RO. Intermittent Rattle. ANYTHING intermittent. It needs to be driven. If you want the car fixed right, let them drive the damn car. Why do you care so much? If care so much put a camera in the car.

If they performed any software updates on the car then it could come back from the programming with anywhere from 1-50 extra miles on it. I went through the same thing.

I always tell my SA that I noted down my mileage before being serviced and after I receive it. If it goes well beyond reasoning then someone's head will have to roll.

It has yet to happen at where I go (Prestige BMW in Ramsey, NJ)
