I had a similar situation happen when I had my 325i, front suspension looked pretty much exactly like that and it was more than $6000 to repair - that is going to be a seriously hefty bill considering front and rear. If you had low insurance premiums, say goodbye to that for a while.... most importantly glad you are ok.

I would say 99.99% of all wrecked BMW's had their DSC on. Some of you make it sound like DSC on defies the laws of physics. The vast majority of BMW drivers don't even know how to turn DSC off,I'm not talking about people on this site since they represent such a tiny fraction of BMW owners.

For spirited driving I have DSC off since it's so intrusive.I've learned throughout the years the most important car safety device is the driver.

I don't understand the need to turn DSC off. If you are on the road, you should not be sliding all over the place. If you are a good driver, you'll be smooth and therefore the DSC won't be intrusive.

i was on 3rd as soon as entered the freeway i hit the gas shifting to 4th i felt the slipping toward the concrete tried to control it a bit and i end up hitting back tire and front tire.
thank god i didn't go all the way into the concrete
3 -> 4 is sketchy. I know a local that crashed his car with a 3 -> 4 shift with DSC off too.. They had to write the car off. Be careful the dynamics of a V8 is much different that an I6. When you floor it you'll sway to the right and left (X axis movement) with an I6 you'll just get Y axis movement, thus lessening your chances of losing the rear end. And wtf are you doing with DCS off when your rear tires were already losing traction?
Crashes happen to the best of us, just move on and get the next best thing!
