using bluetooth in my m3

Hey guys, I just wanted to check to see if this was normal or not and if I should bring it to a shop to have checked out. I paired my iphone 3g to my car and when I make phone calls there is a lot of statis. I can have full bars so i know I am getting good signal. I also paired my wifes phone to see if it did the same thing and it did. Is the bluetooth just not very good in this car or do you think something is wrong?

Bluetooth SUCKS for me in this car, my friend's 6 series is much better. I dont' even use it anymore.

It's wiered, it works well for some and it doesn't for others, I posted about this a while back and the responses were 50/50.

I got the 3G and my wife is using the 2G. Both iPhone seems to work fine without any static problem. Better ask the dealer to check it out. Do you have any tint? I heard that metallic tint may interfere with the signal.

Yeah I have tinted windows. Ill see about asking the dealer to look at it. Seems like it should work fine and if not they should fix it but I dont want to bring my car and leave it there and have them tell me it works fine and they cant do anything.

I used to get BAD echo with my Iphone 3g and I kept trying to fix it . Went to dealer , phoned apple etc... NOTHING worked...

About 2 updates ago when I paired my Iphone and uploaded the new update , my problems went away and its working amazingly well now.

Really weird if you ask me but apple was blaming BMW and BMW was blaming Apple.

Nokia E71 on the Fido Network.
Works fine in the M3. The compatibility and interaction between the phone and the Idrive is better then compared to the PCM in my Porsche but I have to say call quality going both ways is way better in the Porsche. But I haven't had any real call quality issues with the BMW.

Mine works good too - there's obviously road noise when traveling over a certain speed. Sometimes, people say they can't hear me well and I switch to the phone. As far as I can tell, it doesn't have any correlation to signal strength. Other times, they say i'm crystal clear. I got F1 ceramic tint. I do agree with others that the docking station does little to 'boost' signal strength, if any at all. The only benefit I see is that it charges the the phone while being secured in the cradle.

mine sucks... people always complain that they cant hear me... i dont think it has anything to do with tints at least in my case because if i switch it from "bmw" to "iphone3g" its crystal clear.... 1 out of every 10 calls works perfect... i hate the BT in my m3... let us know if you find a fix
