I removed the CDV in my E46. It helped a bit. Made the engagement point much more consistent during startup in 1st and in the 1-2 shift. The CDV removal combined with an RE clutch stop really made my shifting much more reliable and consistent in performance situations.

I bet there is a way to do it without removing the exhaust. When I did my SSK on my 335, BMWs directions said the exhaust needed to come off but all you really had to do was bend a heat shield out of the way and then bend it back when all was said and done.

so UUC has EVO3 "new" shifter. it says it works on 3 series including illuminated shifters. i wonder if that means it'll work with M3

Spoke to Rob from UUC again this morning to get an update. They are projecting within 2 weeks they will release the SSK for the new M3's. Installation will be an easy process. As far as price, it will be along the same lines at the one available for the 3 series.

What price was that? I am very interested in the SSK and the only one a could find was $1,300.00, way too much IMO.

around 300-400 bucks. their current one for E90/E92 is 325 for ultimate, 355 for Evo3 the badass one

i would have linked but they are using frames, so i cant get a link or the page. go under BMW products, go under short shifters. i been reading up on their newest EVO3. im think the M3 one is just a EVO3 configured/tailored for M3
