Best racing exhaust?
So today I took ED on my own (ie, non-leased) E92 and want something more rumbly and roary than the MPE (which I had before, and love but it's not loud enough). What's the best choice for the OMFG exhaust at idle and WOT?

BTW, nothing wrong with modding a leased vehicle...just save the OEM parts to return it to stock...my own car is leased and my mods are in my sig. Dave

if you mean actual racing then def not Meisterscaft as those mufflers have soo many bends in them and I am more a fan of individual cans on each side.
I had a bunch of setups and hands down the best idle and sound is the Gintani Race. It really makes the car somehow feel torquier by even butt dyno readings and at idle it really pulses and sounds loud just idling. Weird to describe but find one and listen in person |

Any catless exhaust (Fabspeed, RPI, Gintani, Challenge, Mastermind) will really wake your M-PE up
Example: RPI Catless X-Pipe with Stock Rear Section |

I must agree it has to be the Meisterschaft super GT ulw track edition. It is one of the lightest back section at 33lbs and can be ordered in titanium to further reduce weight. As in HP most of them produce almost the same numbers when paired with catless xpipe. Truthfully You can't go wrong with any of them as long as you go full catless, only thing to look for is weight numbers .

Keep in mind there are a number of tracks that have a decibel limit.

The obvious choice is definitely long-tube tri-Y headers with a quad side exit exhaust and fuel cell.....

In all seriousness, I bet that E92 would sound all sorts of crazy at idle, part-throttle, and WOT!

I may be wrong but I believe that someone tested a tri-y header setup in the s65 and it wasn't really beneficial.
On another note I found a company that makes long tube headers and a dipstick conversion kit |
