A fair statement. And M3 may well take the $50-60K crown - we don't know yet. Of course, at $30k-$40 there the new 135i about to roll out of Leipzig. And there is always the traditional STi or EVO choices also.

Funny, I belong to many forums and have not seen that very often. I love the 135i, it's just too small to compare to my e90 335i.

I see an argument over the real weight delta of the 1 versus 3, and a few negative comments in a mostly positive 135i thread. I also see one of the primary persons making a case for the 3 over the 1, as also making a case for anything with an M badge being better than anything without: "Go ahead and make a comparison of the e46[m3] to 335. But you would be unintelligent to do so. the e46[m3] is as fast stock for stock as the 335 and handles a whole lot better. It also comes with higher status and a strong lineage." So, based on this thread it seems the "haters" are the badge buyers, not the ones really concerned with actual performance. Here's another 135tii thread, same forum, almost all positive: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91380 |

Suppose we were to take that other thread you linked to from the General cars section and put it in the E90 section. Do you genuinely believe it will remain civil? Plenty of hate (and love too, sure) in this one: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1589368 And I remember more of the same when the car first debuted. |

I will attest that there tends to be alot of negativity in threads where the 1 is compared to the 3, and the negativity usually stems from a 3 owner.

M1?
I hope they would call it 1M--no replacing the original M1.

I have friends currently driving a 350z, Evo XIII, and S2000 who are all planning on getting the 135i. I'd get it except that I need a more usable and accessible back seat (that is why I have a 4-door 335i). The 4-door M3 looks very appealing to me but I am just waiting to see what price it comes in at.
I think we can all agree BMW is on the top of their game right now!

What do we have here?
I first found this at M5board. Probably a repost here so that should get Epacy back into the action. I beleive I read that someone said it was taken off M3post because the modded 335 did so well. Not sure, nor do I care. This thread is on the forced induction section of e90post. I thought it would be appropriate to put it on the M3 forum, since it involves the M3, even though it may be the second time it has appeared in this forum. Whatever the case, I am sure fellow enthusiasts will set me straight one way or another.

The topic was discussed before, but all these pics are new, so not a repost IMHO.
Thanks for the find. AFAIK the m3post thread was reopened after being closed... Best regards, south |

Dude tell me your kidding? You really need to stop hating the 335 because its making sound like an idiot here. "higher status" ? "strong lineage " ? The last time i checked i mailed my payments for my 335 into BMW Finanical Services. Start looking for a shrink because your M3 isnt anything to write home about from the vids ive seen. Anyway, gl........hope you come to terms with trying to make yourself believe spending that spending another 20k is worth it. BTW, "highers status" and "stong lineage" = badge whore |

Comparing modded car with stock car is irrelevent. Want to compare a boosted v8 m3 with a boost 335i? Let me see where this is going. Vishnu is only 1400, ever consider the cost of a boosted v8 to a m3 owner's bank account is exactly the same as $1400 to a 335i owner's account? Not in the same league, the two cars and the owners' bank account.
335i is for people who can't afford m3. Just like 135i owner can't afford a 335i. Last time I checked the regular 3 series forum is all about baller status. When does a baller need to worry about practicality? (Disclaimer: Opinion above does not reflect my personal view, I am applying the igornant 335i owner's mentality. Special note, not all 335i owner are igornant.) It's funny rest of the bmw family gets along just fine except for the few 335i owner bad mouthing everyone else. Look in the mirror lately?
