anybody else having trouble with the new lux kit?

hey
i installed my new (6500k) lux kit from NAM about two weeks ago, and on sunday night the driver side stopped working and the car is throwing that code.

Opened it up and checked/ reinstalled....no change, it just stopped lighting up.

I sent NAM an email, their purchase service was excellent, I trust their post-service will be even better...just want to see what others are experiencing...

Uh oh. Just ordered mine today. Does touching the bulb with bare fingers burn LED lights out early like other types of bulbs?

What year is your M3? They are known to cause errors on the 2010 builds, and i'm still researching why this is happening. The NAM web site doesnt show the 2010 m3 as a compatible model for this reason.

No. LED's are not at sensitive like halogen bulbs

thanks
its a 2008, and as pointed out earlier, touching the leds should make no difference. however, we were very careful during install so that shouldnt be an issue...
very weird and annoying.

Thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't sure. I'll post if there are any issues after I install them. I have a 2009 E90.

Thank God, cause I touched my LED bulbs a few times during install.

Niqui, no problems here. I'm sure NAM will help you out.

Still the sexiest looking mod on my car to date. I often find myself locking and unlocking my car from a distance just to see them light up during the daylight.

Check your ground...I didn't realize how important it was. I grounded it on a different point and they looked weak, and didnt work properly. As soon as I grounded them on the proper bolt, they have been perfect since.

Ground for what? The LUX assembly? Mine didn't have any leads for a separate ground. It was just a plug in harness to the factory wiring.

slammed, i think the OP has the latest LUX system where it's a simple plug in to the factory harness. No grounding is necessary with the new one.

In any case, have you tried switching the passenger's side with the driver's side? at least you can detect if it's a faulty LED or connection?

only the very first few LUX kits needed a wiring harness. now ALL of them are 100% plug-and-play and do not require running wires

keep us updated because I am also looking to purchase however if $200 dollar quality (already on the expensive side for my taste) LED is going to give me issues, I will gladly skip this.

Do not skip this mod! This is by far the most elegant, sexy, and most looked at mod I've done to my car. I would totally get them as the LUX's have sold a lot of units and I've never heard anything bad, only great things about them. I'm sure Marc is gonna fix whatever problem Niqui encountered with his set.

Marc, just to recap, touching the LED bulbs won't harm them??

just a recap:
nam and marc have been great thus far and are shipping me a new set; i hope it comes soon, car looks retarded with one eye...

the driver side black box seems to have deformed and bulged, i unplugged it yesterday - i hope this did no damage to the actual headlight.

all in all, marc and nam were very good in this situation thus far, just waiting for the replacement.

thanks again
