More One Lap videos
Here are some more of the videos from last week.
http://www.youtube.com/user/4sevens After the burnout/drifting/demostration tours, the tires did have a few chunks coming out of the inside shoulders of the rear tires, but those Michelin PSS's are incredibly good, and like the PS2's, they can do it all very well. Wet or dry skidpad, autocross, road course, drag strip, highway and city driving... that's what is required of a One Lap tire, and they could probably have done another One Lap before having no tread left. I've driven the One Lap three times now, and the E90 M3 this time was the perfect blend of the two previous cars, an E60 M5 and an E92 335i. People were surprised when we told them it was stock, except for a Borla exhaust and Performance Friction 01 pads. We had so much fun, but at the time, we didn't realize how much fun we were having. Looking at the videos now, I wish I could do it all over again. Brian Hair OG Racing www.ogracing.com 1-800-934-9112 ext. 14 brian@ogracing.com |

The simple axle-back Borla exhaust just made the car's exhaust tone come alive. It still had the same characteristic rumble unique to the high reving M3's V8 but it can now be heard very nicely at the track especially under load. (Check out lots of drive by videos youtube.com/4sevens. It's not the same as being there but still it something)
It was great having 4 of the same year e90/e92 cars this year. The Shauts had a blower which sounded great but the exhaust tone was different - it sounded more like a jet. The other three were mostly stock with different exhausts so we were able to hear the differences between stock, bmw performance exhaust and our Borla. When I was inside the car driving inside - it sounded similar to the stock tone and was a tad louder when I got on the gas. For highway cruising it was just fine and sounded pretty much stock. There is a little drone at 80mph but I believe that was there with stock exhaust too. When I was outside the car during high speed passes it just sounded awesome - making it's presence known. The other stock e90/e92 m3's had more wind noise than exhaust when they drove by. We were constantly getting comments at each track on how awesome the car sounded. There cheers and "yehaws" as the car made high speed passes. At the end of the Grissom event one of the corner workers sent me a comment on facebook: "The BMW looked great out there, especially your third (and fastest) run. The staff in the timing bus voted your car "best sounding". |
