Tesla S Outsells 7 Series

By quite a bit; more than double even!

http://money.cnn.com/2013/05/13/auto...mercedes-audi/

Never thought I'd say it either, but this is a really nice looking / performing electric car. Trust me, I'm an enthusiast through and through, only will drive a manual transmission, but if I had $75k+ to spend on a car, I would really consider it. It's actually pretty hard to find a single negative review about it from a variety of sources. What do you guys think?

It's probably decent for what it is, but i'll pass on the electric and hybrid cars. I'd never buy one.

Planning to get one as soon as the supercharger infastructure is complete.

I love everything about these!

I would think the Gas Monkey garage outsells the 7 series.

Good job Tesla, finally it's the first electric car which was done right. More competition better for us consumers.

I really like one is grey:

I've seen my first two in the past week driving on 275. One black, one white. They really stand out.

The supercharging feature will be key for many potential buyers.

I would own one.

Build out was about 104k for the performance s.
Not ridiculous or anything.

Not well versed with e power or Tesla but I would goofy guess there is not a lot to go wrong.

That white one isn't too bad.
Silver with their 21" in silver would be just fine.

Order to ready/ site quotes 2 months.

Much prefer it to 7... I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I were looking for a big executive saloon and the charging infrastructure was more mature

And there is another good news, Tesla uses the same bolt pattern as BMW 5x120 72.6mm hub. No reason not to buy one

Considering I see five Teslas a day, that doesn't surprise me. They're gorgeous cars though, and their infotainment screen is amazing

Guys, let's compare apples to apples.
No way you can put Tesla S next to 7 series/ A8/ S-class
It's pure media propaganda for gullible people.

I test drove that car and it's very impressive but it's far away from luxury feel of 7 series/ A8/ S- class, I would say miles away. It's much more close to E-class and 5-series but with a bit bigger interior space.

MB starts at 93K , Audi 8 and 7 series at 73K, while Tesla with Navigation and High Power Wall Connector (must have) will run you about 70K+ (after tax credit) BUT !!!! For most of you with Bimmer driving styles Tesla's battery will be drained within 150 miles at the most (for basic model)

So behave and do not drive far away from your home

Doesn't suprise me, seeing them daily now.

Honestly, BMW unit sales on some of their cars are lower than some would think.

6-series are not selling very well right now. Hence the $6k current incentive.

A guy who just recently left where I work has a new Model S performance Tesla in that dark grey color. Awesome car. He took me for a spin and let me drive it for about 15 minutes a few months back. Truly is an impressive car. The speed is deceiving, as it feels like gliding with its near-silent operation. The 17" screen that controls all functions is pretty great too.

I haven't been in a new 5 or 7 series, so it's hard for me to make the comparison. My only complaint about the Tesla was I would have liked to have seen just a tad higher quality material on the interior given the price. A suede steering wheel and perhaps some accent stitching would have been that little extra touch. I'm being nitpicky though, as overall it was very impressive.
